Follow these steps to make Microsoft Word work for you!
a.. Disable the Automatic Bulleting and Numbering Feature
b.. Configure the Toolbars and menus of Microsoft Word

A: Disable the Automatic Bulleting and Numbering Feature
a.. Open the format menu of Microsoft Word (alt + o)
b.. Cursor down to autoformatting and press enter.
c.. Press alt + o to open the options dialog.
d.. Press control + tab twice to access the "autoformat as you type"
property sheet.
e.. tab to "automatic bulleted lists.
f.. If the option is checked, press the spacebar to uncheck it. This
checkbox should be unchecked.
g.. Press the tab key once more to locate "automatic numbered lists".
h.. If the check box is checked, press the space bar to uncheck it.
This check box should be unchecked.
i.. Press the tab key until "replace smart quotes with straight
quotes" is located.
j.. If this checkbox is checked, uncheck it. This checkbox should be
unchecked.
k.. Press the enter key to sclose the dialog and save the changes.
l.. Press the tab key until the close button is located and press
enter.
B: Configure the Toolbars and menus of Microsoft Word
a.. Open the tools menu (alt + t)
b.. Cursor down to "customize" and press enter.
c.. Press alt + o to access the options property sheet.
d.. Press the tab key once to access the "standard and formatting
toolbars share one row." option.
e.. If the check box is checked, uncheck it by pressing the space
bar. This option should be unchecked.
f.. Press the tab key once to locate the "menus show recently used
commands first" option.
g.. If this check box is checked, unchcck it by pressing the space
bar. This che3ckbox should be unchecked.
h.. Press enter to close the dialog and save the changes.
C: Configuring the Display
a.. Open the view menu (alt + v)
b.. If the "normal" option is not checked, press enter to check it.
c.. open the view menu (alt +v)
d.. Cursor down to toolbars and press enter.
e.. Be sure that "standard" and "formatting" are checked. If any
other options are checked, press enter to disable them - re-enter the menu
and continue until all the other options are disabled.
f.. Open the view menu (alt + v)
g.. Cursor down to ruler. If this option is not checked, press the
enter key to check it. This option should be enabled.
D: Disabling the Office Assistant Permanently
a.. Open the help menu and press enter on "show office assistant."
b.. Press F1
c.. Tab to options and press enter.
d.. Tab to the "use office assistant" checkbox and uncheck it with
the spacebar.
e.. Press enter.
