Hey! I think y'all are a really cool band! Almost all of the
people I know love your music! My two favorite songs on your
new album are "Take Me To Your Leader" and "Breakfast." They
are really cool songs! I was wondering how y'all came up
with the song "Breakfast." Does it have any special meaning?
Sarah
From: JEFF FRANKENSTEIN
The song Breakfast was a fictional story about these guys in
their high school. They weren't athletes or jocks or smart
students or anything like that.
But they had their own breakfast club, every morning they'd
get together and eat cereal together.
One day the leader of their club gets sick and he's in the
hospital on his deathbed, there he realises what's most
important in life.
And so his final words to his fellow breakfast clubbers were
the chorus of the song.
That's where it all comes from.

Hi guys, I'm going to see you in concert in Hershey PA!! I
can't wait. I'm just curious, what is your favorite
Christian Band (besides newsboys). I'm intrested to find
out. See you on the 18th. I am the lead singer of a new band
called the LIDS(little insugnificant dusty students) We have
the same type of style as Seven Day Jesus ( another great
band) see you later.
Joe Giachero
From: JEFF FRANKENSTEIN With 6 guys in the band we all like a lot of different
bands. Obviously Plankeye is one of our favorites.
That's probably why we picked them to go on tour with us.
We enjoy Third Day a lot too. We had a chance to tour with
them and do some dates with them this year. We enjoy them
as well.
It looks like we're going to do the second leg of the "Take
me to your Leader" tour with them and Plankeye starting next
January and February.
HELLO GUYS:
I FIRST HEARD OF YOU VIA A MYLON LEFEVRE VIDEO...WHAT IS HE
UP TO LATELY, BESIDES HIS BRIEF VISITS WITH KENNETH
COPELAND. IS HE STILL RECORDING?
PAUL TENPENNY MTGD14A
From: JEFF FRANKENSTEIN
Mylon is mostly speaking at churches.
We run into him every now and then.
He is actually Peter's (our drummer) father in law.
He was at Kingdom Bound doing some preaching.
Pretty much speaking engagements. He's still doing music
though and doing songs as well. He's keeping pretty busy.
He's doing just as good as he's ever done.
From: JULIE JOHNSON (CQFA23B)
My whole family loves your music!!! Is there any possibility
you could come to the Napa, CA area?

We just wrapped up a string of shows that went all thru
California.
We played in Irvine, Fresno, Redding...
We did about 5 or 6 shows in California.
We'll probably be back next summer for the festivals.

NEWSBOYS:
I REALLY LOVE YOUR MUSIC, AND APPRECIATE HOW YOU'RE
REACHING THE KIDS OF THE 90's. MY QUESTION TO YOU
IS HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU ALL SPEND IN BIBLE STUDY,
DEVOTION TIME, AND JUST GENERAL PRAYER?.
your friend in Jesus
k.j.
From: JEFF FRANKENSTEIN
We all pretty much just go off on our own and have our own
quiet times and read and stay in the word.
We never get together for a formal prayer meeting on the bus
but it seems like a lot of times we'll just start talking on
the bus and it will turn out like a Bible study.
From: LAUREN CUPRILL (VVHK20C)
Hello, Newsboys!
The first Christian conert I ever went to was a NOT ASHAMED
concert in New York. Ever since that concert, I have only
listened to Christian music, especially yours!
I'm an "aspiring" singer, sort of. I love to sing, and I
really want to try to start a band in college. Any
suggestions?
Thank you and God bless!
All my love,
Lauren Cuprill
From: JEFF FRANKENSTEIN
Suggestions would be to stick with it.
Practice and play wherever you can.

My kids want to know where John James learned to dance?
From: JEFF FRANKENSTEIN
With that out of the way, looking forward to seeing them on
Halloween, been reading great reviews about the tour. Loved
"Under The Big Top" and last year on the tour, Peter and
Duncan did a drum duet- AWESOME!!!!! Always looking forward
to you guys coming to town!!!!
Thanx for being online.

John James' dancing comes from a complete lack of rhythm.
That's how people with no rhythm dance.
From: KEITH BERRY (AKJL99C)
Is it possible to pick a favorite album?
I liked "Going Public" the best so far, none have been
disappointing tho'. What about you guys?

I don't know if we could pick a favorite album ourselves.
It's like having kids, you love them all the same.
It's like every song has a special meaning.
It would be hard to pick a favorite.
From: CHRIS BROCK (AKJL99E)
Greetings,
I was amazed to read recently that y'all do something like
250 shows a year! How is life on the road (to that extent! I
don't recall hearing of any other recent Christian group
doing quite that many shows?)?
Are any of you guys married? Have kids? Hope to get married
<smile>?
Peace, Chris

Life on the road is good. It's been really long on this
tour, doing 65 cities in 3 months.
But we're all really good friends and we enjoy hanging out
together.
Yes, John's married to Vesna, Peter is married to Summer,
Jody is married to Erika, Phil is married, his wife's name
is Heather.
Duncan just got engaged last week, getting married next May,
and me, myself am not married but I hope to get married.

Hey!
I've got a question for John!<G> I saw the band at Night
of Joy and noticed you had hair! Why'd you decide to grow
it out?<G> I'm just curious since you've had the bald thing
going for so long.<G> By the way, great performance there!
I didn't get to see the whole thing, but what I saw was
great! I also enjoyed you all at Washington For Jesus! The
crowd really responded well, It's too bad we
were all separated about like 100 yards away from the
stage! :-)
Thanks! \o/ Jeremy
From: JEFF FRANKENSTEIN
John grew out the hair because he lost a bet.
(Classified info)
But he has to grow hair for a year.
He can cut it only at our discretion.
From: DANIEL GUY (YPGP99D)
Hey!
I just have one main question. What made you guys decide
to use real instruments on "Take Me To Your Leader" instead
of the electronic stuff of the past? It sounds really cool!
Also, why'd you wait so long to do it? Well, that's all I
have to say. God bless you on your tour and ministry!
Daniel
(ps. Come to Mobile again! I know we're small, but we're
going all the way to Birmingham to see the show!)
From: JEFF FRANKENSTEIN
Nothing really MADE us decide, we just thought it would be
cool.
When we started recording the album we were coming to a time
in the band where we were just enjoying playing together
live and we wanted to capture a lot of that live energy
that you see onstage into the new album.
From: LARRY MANTUANO (DJWR18B)
Hi! How are you doing? Good, I hope.I'm just typing to
congradulate you on the awesome concert you put on at Ocean
Grove in N.J. I especially liked the little testimony speech
thing John James gave at the end,it was one of the best
parts-even my mother agreed with me. That's one of the only
times we agree!!(just kidding!!!)My friends and I also got
the chance to see you at Creation, and were wondering if
during the concert when Jodie (I think that's who it was)
fell was it on purpose?

From: JEFF FRANKENSTEIN
Yes, thats one of Jody's favorite things to do is to fall
all over the stage.
He's actually getting quite good at it.
(Just kidding, it was not on purpose and we all had a good
laugh about it.)

It came from nowhere. Just all of a sudden somebody thought
about it in the studio. We're all scifi buffs and thought
it would be kinda cool and it blended it with what we're
doing.
John James is a major trekkie. He's one of the most
psychotic trekkies I've ever seen.
During our show, before the song "Take me me to your leader"
we've got like two minutes of clips from like old scifi
themes all pieced together to put a little plot before the
song and its really, really funny.
From: KEITH BERRY (AKJL99C)
One more for ya- my youth pastor ( my kids' youth pastor,
I'm just a tad to old for a youth pastor but my kids
sometimes say I belong there) always asks, "Newsboys? Are
they a christian group? :-) What should I tell him in reply?
And on Halloween, if there's a free minute, we can take you
to our leader (youth) and you can tell him yourself :-).

Hi, Just wanted to ask about your upcoming tour with Josh
McDowell. Will you approach your show any differently while
touring with him? Why or why not? (I do wish you and Mr.

like Newsboys touring with someone like Josh McDowell.)

show. We just do what we do.

Hey Newsboys!
I was wondering, as I ask this to most of our musical
guests, what was one of, or the most awesome experiences
"spiritually" that you have had at one of your concerts,
are there any one's that stand out? If so, we'd love to
hear about it and be blessed in the process! (this can
pertain to you all personally or the crowd's response)
Thanks! \o/ Jeremy
From: JEFF FRANKENSTEIN
Yeah, there is one that stands out for me, it would have to
be when we played Brazil ealier this year.
We played in Sao Paulo, the capitol of Brazil. There's about
20,000 people there, none of which spoke English at all.
But when it came time for the worship part of the show,
there was like no difference between here and there.
Even though we were in the whole other part of the world.
These people were still worshipping God and totally
understood what was going on.
It was really incredible.

Life on the bus, well, tag team wrestling until 4 in the
morning on the bus keeps us entertained alot.
We don't usually leave the hall we play in until 2 or 3 in
the morning. We're usually pretty tired and we actually
sleep every night while the bus driver drives.
So when we wake up, we're in the next town already.
I sleep pretty good on the bus, there are 12 bunks in our
bus, stacked 3 high. They're about the size of a coffin.
You crawl in there and go to sleep.
We usually carry our dirt bikes on the road and when we have
days off we go camping and riding.
From: EDWIN PERKINS (PAGR76A)
I just want to say that your movie was really great. I used
it in my Youth Group and it went over really well. Makes me
want to go out and get the accompanying curriculum. My
youth were saying "Furvent Prayer" with an accent over and
over agin for days. Really great job guys!! This is a
mustn see for any Youth Group.
From: JENNIFER HARRIS (HKXY46B)
Hey!!
Finally, someone whose music I love is on here!! I went to
your concert on September 23 in Pineville, LA. It was
awesome!!! My friend Annie caught the guitar pick you
threw, and our youth intern Cody almost got a drumstick.
So, anyway my questions......How did you guys get started in
music?? What song was the hardest to write?? How did you
come up with "Newsboys"?? I guess that's about it for now!!
Love ya,
Jennifer
From: JEFF FRANKENSTEIN
We all got started in different ways.
We're from three different countries and we just met and
somehow got hooked up together.
Personally, I got started thru my mom.
She made me take piano lessons when I was four years old.
Although I hated it at the time, I'm glad I stuck to it.
I think there really isn't a song that was hardest to write,
they're all equally as challenging except for maybe "Lost
the Plot," because it dealt with some really personal
issues.
From: SOREN WINSLOW (LYYU80B)
Just a Quick , curius question. How did you guys manage to
get teamed up with Plankeye? No insult to either of the
bands, I like both very much. But the two of you have very
different styles.
In Christ,
Soren

I don't know, we just saw them play and we really liked them
a lot.
It seems like we all became friends real quick and we asked
them to join us for this tour.

Hey, Newsboys!!!
I was wondering, is there any chance that you all will be
stopping through West Virginia any time soon? My friend is
crazy for you, and she wanted me to ask you. I want to know
too though. Do you know 4HIM in person? I got to meet them
once. Well, see you all later. P.S. I LOVE "Shine".
Committed to the Finish--Anita
From: JEFF FRANKENSTEIN
I have no idea when we'll be in West Virginia.
Probably sometime between now and next april.
From: MICHELLE HUDGENS (VNJT77C)
Hey guys! I was going to go to your concert in Pineville,
Louisiana, but I had a play practice that night and would've
gotten kicked off had I not gone. Well we may be tiny but
I'm begging you to come back. Although I think I would
drive to Lafayette or Dallas or wherever to see ya'll.
Here's two questions. One of them is sorta stupid and the
other's more down to earth. First, at the Pineville concert
my friend Annie caught one of the guitar picks and won't let
me buy it off her. As I play guitar myself I think I'd
cough up any amount of money for it. So any chance you'd
send me one?
From: JEFF FRANKENSTEIN
The band met about eight years ago. I don't think we really
knew at the time that was what God intended for us.
I've been with them for three years.
Even though we didn't know that was what God had intended
for us at the time, we were just willing to work and play
wherever we could and fortunately, God has really been able
to use us.
From: AMANDA BURDEN (NTVD87D)
Hey,
I saw you guys at Icthus year before last and think
you're great! Do you think you'll ever go on tour with The

design of your website, or was it just put together by some

was it handled by others?

HI Guys,
Some of the artists talk a lot about accountability, do
you guys use your local churches or pastors to help you
stay on track? I know some artists use other people, I read

lot in the Nashville area counsel with Pastor Scotty Smith,
how about Newsboys?
