My passion for the spoken word

What can I say?  I love poetry and literature.  Edgar Allen Poe is probably my favorite followed closely by Edith Wharton and  Jane Austin.  William Blake isn't so bad either.  I am a hopeless romantic, therefore naturally my favorite author of modern day is Jude Deveraux (Judith McNaught is a close second).  I'm also a bit of a Science Fiction freak (did I say freak??  I mean that in a good way).  I love the Xanth  series by Piers Anthony!

Some Poetry of My Own....

Specks

Little specks upon the ground, moving strrctures all around

Thought so large...but really quite small, they never knew "it" controlled all.

Just the dust in "something's" jar, specks unknowing of the farce.

Figment of mind perceived by one, All destroyed....inspection done.

Roses so perfect

Roses....so perfect

grass that 's so green.

Perfect and flawless

Sedate! Serene!

Until came a storm,

breaking this sight,

ripping and tearing,

most of the night.

Tattered and broken,

all excrement!

Eutopia restored?!?

Unveilment!!

The Human Condition

(Won Award with National Library of Poetry.  Click here to search for me in their data base)

 I glanced upon a rock,

and saw its simple form.

It had no special beauty,

but a certain warmth.

I picked it up in hand,

to get a closer look,

and that is when I noticed,

its surface...like a book.

The scars deeply embedded,

yet the exterior shows no signs.

Like a boulder that is weathered,

but smoothed out over time.

This complex object so rugged,

not noticed far away.

I get a new opinion,

in a sympathetic way.

I begin to see its beauty ,

and consider it some more,

and then I simply throw it,

as dirt upon the floor.

There is just a TON more of my writing, however, I just wanted to give you a taste.  My earliest published work goes back to 1985.  Since then I have had several other pieces published as well as a small book of my poems

For lack of a better place to put him.....here I am with Emo Philips.  (Obviously some time ago)  I suppose he is a poet of sorts....OK, I'm stretching it a tad.

One of the most intelligent individuals I have ever met!
