Chiropractic

Chiropractic is the branch of the healing arts that deals with structure and function of the spine.  When joint mobility is impaired it gives rise to increase pressures in the joint space itself.  This increase pressure causes the hyaline cartilage in the joint to break down.  This allows calcium salt infiltrate and causes accelerated joint break down which can be demonstrated as arthritis in many instances.

Chiropractic helps to restore proper function to the spine, therefore helping to aid in the decrease of these accelerated degenerative effects caused by spinal misalignments (vertebral subluxations) and joint fixation.

Chiropractors have found that many times along with spinal misalignments and associated joint dysfunction, that there is a neurological component that many times will cause pain and discomfort.  Keep in mind that pain in the back is not always present or the deciding factor that vertebral subluxation exists. The chiropractors job is to detect these misalignments (vertebral subluxations) and aid in the correction with a process known as a spinal adjustment.
