100 GOOD WISHES QUILT
To welcome and celebrate new life, there is a tradition in the Northern part of China to make a
Bai Jai Bei, or 100 good wishes quilt. It is custom to invite friends and family to contribute a
piece of fabric with a wish for the new baby. Part of the fabric will go into the quilt while the other
part will go into a memory book with the wish. The quilt is then passed down from generation to
generation.

We invite you to join in this tradition as we wait on the arrival of our daughter. We feel that this
will be a special way to acknowledge her heritage and begin new traditions for our family. As she
grows, our daughter will enjoy seeing how many people prayed for her as we anxiously awaited
her arrival into her forever family.

Instructions for Baby Estill's Bai Jai Bei quilt and Good Wishes Book:

1. Find a piece of fabric that you like. Large scraps are definitely welcome & I have plenty to
choose from.

2. Cut the fabric into an 8" x 8" square.

3. Write out a blessing, prayer, good wish, etc. to Baby Estill on a card or paper no larger than
8"x11". (hand written notes are especially welcome).

4. Please be sure to add a small piece of your fabric to the wish card so she can identify your
fabric in the quilt or I can do it.

Thank you so much in advance for participating in this special custom. Not only will it
be meaningful to our daughter, it is also comforting to know that many people are
praying for her safety through this journey.
