my desire, that we as a people, would begin to investigate this special day
in African American History. Eat the Scroll Ministry has compiled
several slave narratives and web sites on Juneteenth in commemoration of
this special day. These short essays are for you and others so that we can
continue to tell the old, old, story. This web page is about sharing our
history. As the saying goes, if we don't do it, who will. Please feel free
to download or cut and paste the following narratives to teach our history,
to tell our story.

THE SLAVE CONSULTANT'S NARRATIVE
Gentlemen, I greet you here on the bank of the James River in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and twelve. First, I shall thank you, the gentlemen of the Colony of Virginia, for bringing me here. I am here to help you solve some of your problems with slaves.
