What's New Site-Wide

The whole site has been completely redesigned. The new schema allows you to navigate from any page to any other page with just three clicks maximum using the top-level navigation bar (blue bar at the top of the page), first-level navigation menu (yellow area on the left side of the page), and additional navigation links at the top of the text area of the page. Search page allows you to navigate even faster - just two clicks will take you to any page of this web site. All file names from the previous version have been preserved, so your old bookmarks, shortcuts/links, etc. should still work fine.

New sections have been added:

  • Services dedicated to the services we offer (translation, interpretation, genealogical and archival research, ancestral town visits, etc.) in addition to our tours and travel arrangements.
  • Search page to help you navigate this site even faster (01-Jan-2002 this functionality was removed).

E-mail problems

Since around mid-December 2000 we have been experiencing problems with undelivered e-mail messages (both incoming and outgoing).

Though technically it is not our fault, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Even though your impression may have been affected by these technical problems, we can assure you that your travel experience will be absolutely the best as it has been for all our customers for over a decade now.

We are currently working on the development of a completely new web site that will not be hosted by Prodigy. The new service provider will also handle our e-mail. Until then, in order to be sure that your messages are delivered to us and ours to you, please, configure your e-mail client so that it requests display receipts (i.e. confirmations that your messages have actually been read) from us and sends display receipts (i.e. confirmations that our messages have actually been read by you) back to us. If you are not sure how to do it, please follow the instructions below:

Netscape Communicator

From the menu select Edit, then - Preferences... A dialog box will pop up. In the left pane of the dialog box click on the + next to Mail & Newsgroups to expand the list of options. In the expanded list of options select Return Receipts. Now, on the right side of the dialog box check the following options: Both types of receipt, Leave it in my Inbox, and Return receipts for some messages. Then click on Customize... button, and another dialog box will pop up. In this next dialog box you will see three drop-down lists. Select Never send, Ask me, and Ask me. Click OK button. The small dialog box will disappear. Now click OK button in the big dialog box. You are done with the configuration.

Now, when you are composing a message, do not forget to actually request a return receipt. To do that, click on the bottom tab located on the left side of the upper pane of the Message composition window (there are three of them there - you need the one with tiny check marks on it) and then check the Return Receipt option. Now, when your message is sent, it is going to be sent with two return receipt requests, and you should get two confirmations: one from your mail server (this one actually does not mean anything, because the massage can still get lost), and another from the computer of the recipient (this one actually tells you that we have received your message).

Now, when you receive a message from us, it is most probably going to be with read receipt request. Netscape will ask you whether you want the receipt to be sent back to us. Please, let Netscape send the receipt, so that we know that our message has reached you too.

Outlook Express

From the menu select Tools, then - Options... A dialog box will pop up. From the tabs at the top of the dialog box select Receipts. Check the Notify me about each read receipt request option. Click OK button.

Now, when you are composing a message, do not forget to actually request a return receipt. To do that, from the menu of the New Message window select Tools, in the drop-down menu you will see Request Read Receipt - click on it. The drop-down menu will disappear. Just to double-check, click on Tools again and verify that now in the drop-down menu there is a check mark next to Request Read Receipt. Be very careful not to click on it again, because this will clear the check mark (move the mouse away and click elsewhere to make the drop-down menu disappear).

Now, when you receive a message from us, it is most probably going to be with read receipt request. Outlook will ask you whether you want the receipt to be sent back to us. Please, let Outlook send the receipt, so that we know that our message has reached you too.

Again, we are sorry about the inconvenience caused by the technical problems that are beyond our control.

The e-mail problem described above seems to have been fixed by Prodigy. Still, just to be on the safe side, please follow the above recommendations.
