Prison Ministry

First Baptist Church of Quartz Hill

With the help of Onesimus Ministries and Chaplin John, we have a very fulfilling Prison Ministry based at the

California State Prison, Lancaster.

We have seen numerous prisoners accept Christ as their Savior and have witnessed the changes in their lives that speak of true Salvation. These men are hungry for the gospel and have welcomed our church and men into their world.

When a church member wants to join this ministry, they have to undergo an intensive background check by the State of California Prison Department to make sure they can be allowed into the prison facility. They are also required to dedicate a lot of time for training sponsored by the prison. After that, they are discipled by Brother Ricardo Yanez.

Ricardo has dedicated his weekends and a lot of other time to leading and ministering is this mission field. Ricardo is in great demand by the prisoners because of his unique style of preaching in both English and Spanish. Ricardo is in charge of the Prison Ministry and welcomes your help. If you’re interested in joining in this work or getting more information about it, contact Ricardo or Pastor at the church.

Take a look at Brother Raymond and family:

(Could YOU leave you family every weekend to go preach to a bunch of lost sinners at a prison? Brother Raymond feels the Lord has directed him to do just that. Can you help by going with him?)

How about some of the other men who’re helping with the ministry?

Take another look at these men. That smile in their eyes comes from knowing that they’re serving the Lord and preaching the Gospel to every creature. Join them and see what the Lord will do in YOUR life!
