We offer a wide variety of activities for our youth here at the church. These activities vary by the season. Check below for a listing of upcoming events and links to pictures from some of our recent fun activities.
Just
remember, everything we do here at First Baptist Church of Quartz
Hill is
Christ and Soul-Winning centered! So when you see our youth on a ski trip
or riding go-karts at an amusement park, remember they heard the Word of God
before getting there and will hear it while there. They might even find a
chance to spread the Word of God while having all that fun.

always, Brother Jim’s message touched our hearts and challenged us at the same
time.
Saturday,
February 10th and Sunday, February 11th, 2002. Brother Jim White preached
Saturday night and Sunday morning. Each time the Lord blesses our church with
the chance to hear from Brother Jim we are all blessed with fantastic messages
and fellowship. If you’ve never heard this fantastic evangelist and former

for a visit from the Ohio Wildman!

August
16th thru 18th: KJV Jubilee. This event will be
spiritually uplifting for our congregation. Please, pray that many preachers
will attend. You will receive a great blessing as you and your family
participate in furnishing food, showers, and perhaps even lodging for these
preachers and their families, as you are able.
July
29th: Church workers meeting at 5:00 PM. All church workers are requested to
attend.
July 28th: The Men’s Prayer breakfast was a great success with a large contingent of men in attendance. Pastor Yancey provided the spiritual food and Jimmy Roach lead a small team of men laboring on physical food. Apparently, Jimmy felt this was a good opportunity to use the breakfast bacon to illustrate the fate that awaits those who leave this world without Christ. Ricardo Yanez was especially grateful to Jimmy for this illustration because, as he mentioned to Jimmy: It reminded him of the days he spent in the Cuban army years ago. J
July
16th-21st: Teen camp at Ironwood. Out adult representative
Ricardo Yanez seemed to enjoy his stay more than anyone anticipated. We’re all still
confused why he decided to use this week for fasting and prayer. The prayer was
great but who can fast with all the great food at Camp Ironwood?
July
8th: The Lord’s Supper was celebrated at the morning service.
June 30th: All church workday. Several of the men turned out to work around the church. We did a lot of weeding in the athletic field and along the road (and quite a bit of fellowshipping and snacking too!)
June
27th: Missionary Tom Franklin, a missionary to Cuba.
June
18th-23rd: Junior youth camp at Ironwood. Our adult
representatives (Rosa and Joy) seemed to have as much fun as the kids did. (I
wonder if that field trip to the Factory Outlet in Barstow had anything to do
with this? J )
June 15th: All church trip to the “Jethawks” baseball game. A good time was had by all. Thanks Jim and Linda Hearn for organizing this outing!
June

there was a Prison ministry revival these days with a lot of fruit for our men.

Fundamental Baptist Church, Ventura. Pastor Yancey was blessed to speak at the
meeting and from all reports, all those in attendance were blessed by his and
all the preacher’s messages.
June
10-13th: Summer revival with Brother James Rushing, great evangelist from
Georgia! Imagine this, an opportunity to hear a real Southern preacher in our
little church.
June
10th: Church Potluck. Once again, the ladies of the church outdid themselves
with the food (and the men outdid themselves with the consumption thereof.)
May
18-19:
Master’s Men Conference in Fresno. Pastor and Brother Ricardo Yanez (Prison
Ministry leader) were able to attend and reported that it was a blessing.
Pastor Yancey was blessed to be allowed to preach the first message of the day.
May
6th: Jay Dempsey, missionary to Canada. This brother has a vision for our
northern neighbor. He and his family (wife Janet and son Jason) spent several
days with us at the church. Brother Jay blesses us with his preaching on Sunday
and also blessed the First Baptist Academy kids on Wednesday morning in chapel
with another good message. While here, Brother Jay also took the time to help
around the church. And son Jason blessed the men (and our wives) with a
selection of inspirational ties that he sells to help support their ministry.
What a blessing he and his family are. Pray that we are able to take him and
his family on for support. Visit their website and pray for their ministry. Dempsey family website.
Visit and order a tie from
Jason’s website.
April
29th: The church’s annual business meeting was held tonight. We were
delighted to find out that our little congregation has been able to send such a
large amount ($45,000) to missionaries during the past year. The Lord has truly
blesses our church. We also passed our new budget with some discussion.
Additionally, we elected new officers for the church. Jim and Linda Hearn both
won offices. Jim is the new Trustee and Linda is now our church Clerk. Jim gets
to help us follow God’s leading in financial matters and Linda gets the joy of
recording the minutes of our meetings. God Bless you both. Also, Joy Issacs is
now the church Treasurer and Joe Mills is our newest Deacon. We also voted to
take on new missionaries. Jim McClellan (missionary to Germany), Gary Johnson
(Local Baptist Bible Publishers,) and Mike Flueck (missionary to Africa) were
voted on for support.
April
18th: Jim McClellan, missionary to Germany visited our small church and
blessed us with a discussion of his mission field and a wonderful message. Pray
with us as we consider taking him on for support in an upcoming business
meeting.
April
8th: Potluck luncheon after morning services. The theme for this potluck
was “Mexican” although there were rumors that some of those wonderful dishes we
were treated to were PhilliMex. I don’t care what name you apply to the food,
it was all great. Every member and visitor was treated to an opportunity to
make real Baptist out of themselves with a fine family potluck. Members and
visitors all spent a grand afternoon eating and enjoying fellowship with the
brothers and sisters in our historic meeting hall.
March
1-31: Help
Jim Month – The White family lost everything due to Brother Jim’s accident
on the airplane. He was injured en-route to preach at a meeting. Even after using
their settlement with Snap-On Tools, they were left $180,000.00 in debt. They
are still $72,000.00 in debt and living hand-to-mouth. Let’s see how much we
can help them during the month of March. If you prefer, you may start this
month. Wednesday, April 4th was “Jim White Night.” Jim came and
preached a new message to us out of the book of Mark, chapter 5:1-20. He
preached on how great our God is and just about “brought the house down” with
this great sermon. We were able to give him our love offerings, which we trust
the Lord will bless greatly! Every little bit will help! Read more about
Brother Jim White in our Missionaries section. Click here to link to that page. Here’s an idea, how about emailing Brother Jim with some encouragement
by clicking here.
March
28th: Brother Ray Geide (Missionary to Russia.) Brother Ray visited us along
with his family. The insight he gave us of that mission field was a major challenge.
You can see that God is blessing and the adversary is fighting hard to stop
them. They are facing tremendous opposition from the local government. Their
church property has been locked by the government to prevent them from
preaching and spreading the gospel. Prey that God opens more doors for them
there.
Christmas Play 2000: We had a great time at this year's Christmas Play. Thanks to the youth and kids who participated. And a special “Thank You” to Brother Raymond and Sister Josie Delgado who pulled together youth from our Teen Club, Junior Church, Kid’s Club and several Sunday School classes to make this celebration of our Savior’s birth a success!
