DIRTY DISCING TOURNAMENT
FORMAT:
In the first two years, we have used a variety of formats. The first year, with
nine teams, we had three pools of three, and the pool winners and a wildcard
advance to the Semifinals. The second year, with ten expected teams, we planned
for two pools of five, with the top two teams advancing. When only 6 teams stayed
to play, we switched it to two pools of three with a crossover game, and the
top two teams advancing.
This year, it's a 12 team format (you're all still invited), with three rounds of pool play in the morning (unfortunately, those games will; be short, as Little League (Rec.) baseball has to use seom parts of the field by as early as 12:30. But not to worry, we'll be off by then. There will be some time for lunch, in fact, players can drive into town (a few blocks), and get soime food or something. Then the top 2 teams from each pool will probably advance into single-elimination formated playoffs, after three rounds of that we'll know who the Dirtiest Discingest Champion is.
For those teams not inplayoffs, there will be a consolation game and Flutter-Guts tournament. I'll post the rules soon (that is, if you don't know the rules already). (FYI, the Flutter-Guts teams will only consist of 4 players (3 and an alternate)).
So if you're imterested in coming, please let us know immediately, and send us some money (we have spots open because only a few teams have actually sent in their checks). So let me know if you're interested, or just come out and watch on June 20th and support Ultimate in general (and in our community, of course).
