Peter and Molly met while attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Peter was majoring in Japanese Language & Culture while  Molly was focused on History and Economics.

After graduating, they were hired as English teachers at a private language school on the island of Miyako, Japan, about 200 miles south of Okinawa. They spent a year there, made many friends and enjoyed living in a tropical paradise. It was while on Miyako that they decided to attend law school, and despite the rigors of applying long-distance, both were accepted to Gonzaga University's School of Law in Spokane, Washington.

Molly and Peter attended Gonzaga for two years before taking a leave of absence to return to Japan for another year. This time they worked for the Japanese government on the JET Programme, living in Kochi City on the island of Shikoku, just south of the main island of Honshu. While on the program, Molly taught at public high schools and Peter at junior high schools.

Fully recharged from a great year in Kochi, they returned to finish their final year of law school. As graduation approached, warm memories of Miyako prompted them to choose (sight unseen) Phoenix, Arizona, as the place to practice, so they packed their worldly possessions and journeyed to the southwest without jobs or even a place to live. They spent the summer studying for the Arizona bar exam, and upon passing, Molly "went solo" doing consumer bankruptcy work, while Pete ventured into insurance defense law. However, he found the work unfulfilling, so he soon joined Molly and the firm of Foley & Honigmann was born in January, 1998.

While the firm concentrated on all types of bankruptcy matters, Peter also handled divorce, consumer law, personal injury, appellate and criminal matters. Steadily, F&H became a great success, and Molly and Peter quickly gained reputations as hardworking advocates for their clients. Unfortunately, an unexpected illness in the family required the duo to return home to the Midwest, thus necessitating the closing of the firm in November of 2000.

The pair settled in the western suburbs of Chicago, and after working for other firms and companies, Peter & Molly decided it was time to reopen F&H in September, 2003, so they could once again work directly with clients on problems and issues that make a difference.

Peter is currently licensed in Illinois and Wisconsin, and also in the District of Arizona, the Northern District of Illinois, the Western District of Wisconsin, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Molly is currently licensed in Illinois and Wisconsin, the District of Arizona, and the Eastern District of Wisconsin.

Peter & Molly are licensed to practice in the State of Arizona; however, as they have moved back to the Midwest, their licenses are currently on inactive status.
