Cougar Prowl is taking its place in 2008
Come try an easy 50 on the Okmulgee Cougar Prowl trails! The purpose of this ride is to get people to try their first 50! We will have mentors to ride with you if you want one. This is to be a FUN RIDE! Of course, everyone is invited! There is a pond to swim you and your horse in afterward if you desire. If you cannot ride, please come and participate in the ride as a volunteer!

DIRECTIONS: Take Hwy 75 in downtown Okmulgee.
Go west on 56 8 miles. You will pass a spillway
on your left and the Game Management
Area #1 on your right. DO NOT TURN HERE!
Go on 4 more miles, turn right on Dentonville Rd.
(paved). Go 2 m N to Lincoln Rd, then 3+ m E.
Go 1/2 mile N to Game Management
Entrance#4 (on left). From the West, take
HWY 56 out of Okemah. From the NORTH, take
Hwy 16 W from 75. In downtown Beggs, go
SOUTH on ALT 75 (there is no S sign, only N) Go 1 1/2 mi S to Webster Rd.
Turn Rt, go 4 1/2 miles, entrance is on the right.

MOVING ON UP
Cougar Prowl is taking its place this year.
THIS RIDE GOVERNED BY THE 2007 AERC RULES. ALL RIDERS SHOULD BE FAMILIAR AND COMPLY WITH SUCH RULES.
Prepare yourself for heat and horseflies. Carry a sponge and use it at every opportunity on your horse and yourself!
***Please be conservative with your space and only put up SMALL corrals. Park perpendicular to the pond, but allow room for vetting in the middle and riders to get to the pond. More space is available in the second parking area.
It should go without saying to turn your generators off at 10pm.***
1. Any breed of horse or mule is welcome but must be at least 5 year old.
2. Animals should be shod. Pads and easy boots are permitted. Any tack is OK.
3. All horses should check in Friday evening, before dark, if possible.
4. Junior riders must remain with sponsor throughout the ride. ALL junior riders MUST wear approved protective headgear! Junior riders must remain within sight and hearing range of the sponsor at all times.
5. All animals are subject to saliva, blood or urine tests by vet. No animal will be allowed to ride without vet approval.
6. No minimum riding time. Maximum total time: 12 hr
7. HORSES MUST BE FIT TO CONTINUE TO RECEIVE COMPLETION!!
8. The campsite is very nice, with pond water readily available. Bring your own drinking water, food, hay, and sleeping accommodations. Outhouses only.
10. Ride management reserves the right to remove any person who is disruptive to the ride or endangers the safety of others.
11. DOGS MUST BE ON A LEASH AT ALL TIMES!
12. ALL horses in camp must have a negative Coggins within 1 year!
