Fluffy Singler

Fluffy Singler is a poet, writer, spoken word performer and performance artist. She is the editor of the literary journal Karawane: Or, the Temporary Death of the Bruitist. She has also been an activist for peace and justice for the past 20 years. Her work includes being involved with the early days of organizing the Green Movement in the US, work with the Catholic Worker Movement, Amnesty International, and much more.

In that spirit, and in light of the Republican victories in Congress with the recent 2002 elections, Fluffy urges you to become politically active in the causes that you most believe in, to make sure that your voice is heard, and to work for the organizations that need your help, whether it be AIDS research and education, domestic violence, pro-choice work, education, etc.

In particular, please do all that you can to show your opposition to war with Iraq and to militarism around the world. The tragic events of September 11th (which Fluffy witnessed firsthand while visiting Manhattan that week) do not give us license to spread misery to others. Instead. it should sensitize us even more to the very real suffering that people around the world experience as the result of war and violence.
