Millions of Irish
left the Old World for the New, some by choice
and others of necessity. From the Glens of Antrim
to the Hills of Kerry, from Derry and Queenstown,
from Dublin City via Liverpool Town they climbed
aboard the packet ships. Some settled in the
great cities of New York, Boston and
Philadelphia. More moved North and South and
West, digging mud and coal and gold, laying rails
and felling trees, making America great. Dan
Milner & Bob Conroy sing their songs
and the songs of the seamen who brought them
across the Western Ocean. The true mark of a
great story teller is that the listener feels he
or she is there as events unfold; Dan Milner
is a ballad singer of that ilk. The 5-string
banjo and open-key guitar playing of Bob
Conroy are stunningly poignant. Together,
these veterans from New York's South Street
