BREVE RESENA DE LA HISTORIA DE LOS PRIMEROS NINOS MORMONES EN TRUJILLO Por: Freddy Desposorio
Provo, Utah
PRIMERO.- Presidente J. Vernon Sharp, 1959-1962
SEGUNDO.- Presidente Sterling Nicolaysen, 1962-1965
TERCERO.- Presidente J. Avril Jesperson, 1965-1968
What a great man he is. He even remembered the year and the month when such or such thing happened, or when such Elder started his mission, even back to the 1940's.

PERSONAL HISTORYPERSONAL HISTORY OF MY CHILDHOOD
By Freddy Desposorio
(Recopilacion de: "My Missionary Journal", Tomo III, Pagina 301)
1961Mi Frase PredilectaSEGUN MIS TIOS:

1967Mi casi conversion a CuraSACERDOTE Y PADRE CATOLICO
"Arequipa? me decia yo, Tan lejos?
[Y] me decia mi mama: "No, no te vayas hijo.

Provo, Utah
Today I have a neat story to write:
Yesterday, the 12th of December I was curious to check on the internet, in Google, the names of the Elder missionaries who baptized me, so that I can contact them.
This story began to develop (once and for all) in my life, last Friday December 9, 2005 when I decided to go to the Church adult dance to see if I can meet someone special.
There I met this lady by the name of Lisa Tanner who has one child of four years old, very pretty and who got divorced a month ago. So she is single and available. While we were dancing, I asked her how many children she had, and she asked me the same question. Then she asked what my five children's names were.
After that, I asked her if she has served a mission. She did serve in Chicago, Illinois. She asked me if I had served too. I said, yes I did, in Uruguay. Then she asked me where I was from. I said Peru. She got surprised and asked me where about. When I said Trujillo, she replied that her dad served his mission in Peru. I was astonished to hear about her dad, so I asked her what years has he served. When she said that he was a missionary there during 1968, I replied: "Oh, really?" and said that I was baptized in 1969. "You know? I always wanted to know where are the missionaries who baptized me. I would like to see them someday. You know, I want to see again the missionary who baptized me and his companion." I said, and I replied: "His name was Elder Child..., that's all I remember. Maybe, you can ask your dad to see if he knew them. I know that one of the Elder's name was Elder Child. Could you please check with your dad?" And she replied: "Certainly, I will."
Then, we danced for a little while. Then she needed to go to pick up her child from the babysitter, so I asked if I could walk her to her car. I was happy when her response was positive. She first needed to look for her sweater. I helped her find it; it took a while to find it; then, she needed it to get her overcoat and we went to get it from the closet; it was very cold and icy outside nowadays. Then I walked her out to her car, and sure it was nice to do so. I haven't done for this for a long, long time.
During that weekend, I was thinking about the names of the missionaries who baptized me, and I was wondering how I could find them if I never get to hear or see Lisa again.
I knew that many years ago, as I was growing and maturing, I was anxious to contact the missionaries who baptized me so that I can remember my chidlhood and go back to history to remember my memories. By then, I was a return missionary and I was a former Leader of the Church Educational System, and I remember that I've always heard from the pulpit neat stories of brethren of how they have re-encountered the missionaries who baptized them. And I also wanted to feel those feelings and have the same miracles that happened to them. So I've always shared and asked through out my life to members about how can I contact them. And I always wanted to go to the Church's main offices in Salt Lake City or I wanted to write them a letter so that they can help me locate the address or phone numbers of these Elders. But I never did write to the Church Office nor I went there to ask for this information, though I remember calling one time to the Offices in Salt Lake and told them of my wish to find these missionaries, and they said that they would research this for me and they would let me know if they found their current address or something, but I never again heard a single word of it.
But, on Monday, that means, yesterday morning, before I left to work, I went to my living room very prayerfully to check up on my Missionary Journal 1975 for any Personal Data of my early life in Church (which they are in the front pages). I wanted to verify who and what was the correct name of the missionary who baptized me. For my surprise, I was wrong, it was not Elder Child who baptized me, but instead, it was Elder Ronald Lund who did baptize me. Elder M. Raun Child was who confirmed me. But I've always thought that it was Elder Child because that was an easy name to remember, instead of the name Lund which was so hard for me to pronounce it. By then I began to recall that I had always wanted Elder Child to baptize me, but I also think that they both were excited to do so, and finally Elder Lund was given the chance to baptize me.
Now I wanted to get their names right and memorize them in my mind since I had no pen to write them down at that moment. I also wanted to go to my work and check out their names in the internet. But when I returned home at night time I remembered that I had gorgotten to check out the Elders' names, and I said: "Why did I forget? I won't let this day end without checking them out in my home computer!"
Finally I got excited when I checked out their names on the internet. I became convinced that one of these two Elders' names ought to be in the internet. For many years, and after the internet invention, I was always wondering if their names would be in the internet, and I used to say that maybe I won't be able to find them at all. That maybe they are not popular at all or well known, or maybe that they may have not done anything as authors or writers on the internet, or even worse they are not celebrities. These thoughts are what had influenced me not to check up on the internet.
But yesterday Monday when I woke up I had a clear idea and the desire to check on the internet, and I said Why Not? Why would their names may not be there? Why should I not check up on the internet? Maybe if I type their names on Google, just like I do to check out my own name and my last name to research and to do Genealogy. Yes, I said. I should check them out on GOOGLES. Who knows? Something must come up there. So I better check out their names, I said.
So I did, and this is what I found out. First of all, I first started checking out for the name of Elder Ronald Lund. I was very curious to know what would've brought up. For my surprise, the funny thing is that I opened up each name in order, and the first page brought up a Ronald Lund who was a criminal and sex offender whom I thought from reading, he was a policeman. Then I decided to look very deeply for any clue to see if he was or was not a Mormon, or if he was conected to Utah at all, keeping in mind that all these people's background could've been from any part of the USA. Since I did not find any clue that could have led me to that, I still had hope that he was not inactive in the church.
So I opened up the next name, and the second Ronald Lund was a teacher, but he was too young to be him.
So I skipped to the next name. I opened up a page which was about a firm of Engineers, and I did not understand at first what was this page about. But I read the name "Ronald Lund" who was the Executive or President of the Company and I read a list of five or six other names who were on the top list of the directory. So I decided to keep checking out deeply for any clue and find out if he was a Mormon or if he had any connection with the Utah State, and this is what I found out: That he graduated from the University of Utah (and this, for sure was a great hope for me), then I kept observing that no one else from that list graduated from the U of U but instead they were grads from other universities around the state. Then I went deeply to make sure if that page was from Utah or if I could find out more about him being a Mormon or if he ever was in Peru. But I could not find anything else in his Personal Resume, except that there was the phone number and address of the Company.
Thereby, I think that now I am even closer to contact the Elder who once changed my life for good and I know that one day I am going to contact him and I will thank him for all that he has done for me along with Elder Child. May the Lord help me to find him, since I was not able to find anything else about Elder Child. I just hope that he has just not died, so that I can have the chance to reunite with both of them.
THE END

Yesterday, the 14th of December, I called to Ronald Lund's workplace in Michigan since the phone number was in his Company's WebSite. I called but no one answerede so I left a message on the Company's voice mail, introduced myself and explained what I was calling for, and I said to the messenger to please give this message to Ronald Lund. I was so curious to know if he was the person I am looking for.
So today by 9:45 am since I have not heard anything from the staff of that Company, I decided to call again, and this time the receptionist answered, and said that she has heard my message and that she had already sent out an email to "Ronald" who happened to be on a trip, and that "hopefully" he will return my call. But I was still curious if he was him and if he was a Mormon so I asked the receptionist if he was a Mormon or not. For my rejoice she said "Yes," and she said that he is still very active in the church. But I don't know how she read my thought, but she answered all my questions.
Now, I will just wait for him to contact me, for I can not do much now until Ronald Lund calls me. But I sure can't wait until I hear his voice and tell him this whole story. But mostly I will thank him for what he did in my conversion to the LDS church and to my life. I have been very humble all of this week for all that has just happened in my quest of looking for him.

On March 15, 2003 I was awakened by an emergency phone call at 4 in the morning by a Uruguayan Family I knew in USA for 30 years, "The Viera Family". The call was about another Uruguayan family who had U.S. Immigration arrest problems, and I was asked for help. This was the turning point of my life. The next day after helping to the relatives of this family, I felt that I should now call to see if they knew any of the families I had taught in Uruguay. I felt that it was about time to check out how my families were doing. I got some clues of looking on the internet for the Uruguayan Phone book, and immediately I started checking on my Personal Journal for their full names and began my first call to La Paz, Uruguay on March 26 with the Mazzoleni and Palesso Family. Then, on March 27, 2003 after searching for more phone numbers in the web, I decided to give it a try and to find out the whereabouts of this special family who always was on my mind, "The Carrizo", and to find out once and for all, of the phone number of the Carrizo Family. I always had considered them as my Golden Family (a family with the two parents and 4 teen age daughters and a boy of 9 years old, at that time).
So, on that day I called them. I was so happy that the mother, Sister Filomena Carrizo, answered the phone. She was schocked that it was me. She asked me: Are you the Peruvian Missionary who taught us the Gospel?. We cried of joy.
I had found this family with my companion, Elder Duane Bingham, after we were knocking doors in 1976 for several days, and after a one week of dissapointments from rejection after rejection from the people of La Teja (in Montevideo).
The day we were knocking the door of the Carrizo Family was, either the 27th or 28th of January, 1976. It was a late morning. It was time to go home to eat and rest. There was no luck of interested people to hear us, but instead, a lot of dissapointments.
When my companion said: "Let's Go now Elder Desposorio" I said, "Elder, one more door please!" But my companion pointed me to his stomach, saying that he was very hungry. I said a gain, "please". So he said: OK, but just one more try, and this time, you knock this door. I was so encouraged to do so. I knocked the next door. Suddenly, a young and beautiful girl of 16 years old came and opened the door; her name was Susana Elizabeth Carrizo. This is Susana Elizabeth Carrizo, 16 years old.
This was the girl who opened her door and let the gospel enter to her family, except her.Immediately I got nervous! My companion reminded me to tell her who we are, "Representatives of Christ...". After that, he help me out to say the reason we were here. It was "The message." I was so nervous. Next, my companion hit my elbow and said: Set an appointment with her! (this was because the parents nor anybody else was at home.) She, Elizabeth, was very kind and very receptive, and her face showed a face of much surprise. I felt that she did not want to reject us. I was humble and astonished. She said that her entire family would be very delighted to hear us. That gave me hope. That was incredible to hear.
The next day, we arrived, and it was impressive how Mr. and Mrs. Carrizo and the whole family was waiting for us, sitting in their chairs and anxious to hear us (I thought they were going to debate us, or that they were evangelists,, because everything was so perfect.) This story happened in La Teja, Montevideo. That day, we taught our first discussion, after so long. When my Companion and I left, we looked at each other as asking: Is this a dream?
After we taught few more discussions on the following 2 more weeks, along with the invitation to be Baptized, I was transfered to another city. I left La Teja, Montevideo very sadly. Then, I never heard nor wanted to hear from them again (because I didn't want to have any feelings form them). But I had always thought that the entire Carrizo Family did get baptized, indeed. I was positive. I always had the impression that even Sister Carrizo, the mother and her daughter, Susana Elizabeth (the one who opened the door), were also baptized. For my surprise (now in 2003), they were not. The only one who got baptized were the father, Mr. Carrizo, and his other 3 daughters.
It was on that day of my phone call, March 27, 2003 with sister Carrizo, when I found out that neither she nor Susana Elizabeth were baptized. I also found out that brother Carrizo passed away in 2002. Then Mrs. Carrizo asked me about my family. Then she told me that Elizabeth her daughter, was there, just visiting. I could not remember which daughter she was talking about. Having problems identifying which one she was referring to, Mrs. Carrizo asked me if I would like to talk to her, and I asked: "Wait. Is she the one, the beautiful one?" And Mrs. Carrizo said: All my daughters are pretty! Then, after talking to her daughter, I found out she was the one, Elizabeth, the pretty one.
Elizabeth told me that she was at her widow mother's house by accident, visiting her just to check on her. I felt that Mrs. Carrizo was very prompted by the spirit for telling me to talk to her daughter, so I said: "Please wait, before I talk to her, I need to know more about her life so that I can know how to approach her." Mrs. Carrizo knew by the then, that I had 5 beautiful children and no wife. So she told me very sweetly that Elizabeth had been divorced for a year. Then, I knew how to approach her. I was so excited to talk to her.
The phone call we had, was so amazing from then on. Elizabeth and I got very happy talking. I asked her why she never got baptized. She said she never knew why, but that she has always been worthy. I said to her very funny, "So, you were the black sheep?" Then we both laughed. Then I said very excitingly: Do you mean I have to go back all the way to Uruguay again and knock your door? She laughed. I said to her: Look, because of you, the Gospel entered to your house and only your family has received and enjoyed the blessings of the Gospel, and you need those blessings as well. I don't know why I was so happy talking to her. It was like I always knew her. She got humble and silent. I could feel her spirit of humility. Then we shared our e-mail address and other informations.
Thereafter, we began e-mailing each other daily since the very next day. We have also been talking on the phone every other day until this day [June 12, 2003.] One day she told me she was ready for the missionaries. Then, I called the Mission President of the Uruguay Montevideo West Mission and gave the referral. The rest is history. Elizabeth is a very spiritual person. I feel she has a strong testimony. She and I had dicussed of the date of her baptism. She will be baptized on Saturday the 21st of June 2003. She asked me to baptize her. What an honor to baptize HER.

Fred DesposorioWe had already expressed... of the amazing of Heavenly Father's Plan, and of this Great Miracle! Now I'm going to Uruguay next week, and we will spend time together for a week. We have talked about...the Temple, a year from her baptism. She is eager to get to the Temple...
The most beautiful thing is still to happen... when I arrive in Uruguay. That's why I'm going for. Keep updated here. Sorry we live far away: Uruguay and USA... How is this possible? Do we still believe in MIRACLES like President Cook taught us? That's the spirit!!!!!
Love you all
Fred

"Reflexiones de
mi Ninez,
mi Familia
y
PERU! Lindo y maravilloso!
Dad buen tiempo a tus amantes y a quienes solo te anioran y desean tu felicidad!

PERSONAL HISTORYReturn to the IndexBRIEF PERSONAL HISTORY OF FREDDY ENRIQUE DESPOSORIO CUBAS, 1975

My Physical DescriptionWhen I left on my Mission, today August 2, 1975, I weighed 135 pounds and I was five feet six inches tall [1.70 metro. Now and after 1977 my height has been 5 feet 9 inches, 1.75 metros].
My hair color is dark brown, and my hair is wavy, just like my mother's and her father. My eyes' color are light brown, and I inherited this from my mother whose father's eyes color were green. My race is a mixture of white from my mother's side and Mestizo from my father's side. I have a Roman nose. My eyes' lid are big and deep. I have a mole on the left side of my face, right on the middle of my cheek. My physical texture appearance is a slim body. My shoe size is 9 1/2 and 10. I have a lot of hair on my legs, not much on my arms, and almost nothing on my chest. And finally, my ears size are medium, and my beard and mustache hair are average.
My health has always been healthy, with a lot of energy to run in Marathons, swimming, and playing basketball, thus I have represented my High School and classroom several times. I have always been left handed. Now I write with my right hand ever since my elementary teacher forced me to do so, but I kick and play football (soccer) with my left foot, I hammer with my left hand, I shovel with my left hand, I use the needle to sew with my left hand, and I do many other things with my left hand, except that now I write with my right hand. It was my Kinder Garden teacher who forced me to always use my right hand and she also pressured my mother to cut my ever long curly hair (my first haircut) when I was five years old. My oldest sister, Margarita is also a left handed and she still does.

Love you all
Fred
P.S.
I Have 5 children. The oldest is 21 years old, it's a she, and the youngest is 10. I Graduated from BYU in Political Science and International Relations. I was a C.E.S. MY RE-ENCOUNTER WITH THE FAMILIES
I TAUGHT AS MISSIONARY 27 YEARS LATER"
27 January 1976 and
27 March 2003
Montevideo, Uruguay
To my Former Missionary Companions of the Uruguay Mission:
I have been divorced for 7 years now. I am a single dad raising my children. After I have returned from my Mission in Uruguay 27 years ago, I had decided to reach and call the families I have found and taught in Uruguay. I never went back to Uruguay after I finished my Mission, nor I had written the families I had taught or baptized. The reason was because I always knew that someday I would be going. Strange feeling but it was true!
On March 15, 2003 I was awakened by an emergency phone call at 4 in the morning by a Uruguayan Family I knew in USA for 30 years. The call was about another Uruguayan family who had U.S. Immigration arrest problems, and I was asked for help. This was the turning point of my life. The next day after helping to the relatives of this family, I felt that I should now call to see if they knew any of the families I taught in Uruguay. I felt that it was about time to check how my families were doing. I got some clues of looking on the internet for the Uruguayan Phone book, and immediately I started checking on my Personal Journal for their full names and began my first call to La Paz, Uruguay on March 26. On March 27, 2003 after searching for more phone numbers in the web, I decided to give it a try to find out the whereabouts of the special family who always was on my mind, and to find out once and for all, of the phone number of the Carrizo Family. Then we cried of joy. I had found this family with my companion, Elder Duane Bingham, after we were knocking doors for days, and after a week of dissapointment from rejection after rejection from the people of La Teja.
The day that we were knocking the door of the Carrizos was, either the 27th or 28th of January, 1976. It was late morning, almost time to go home and eat. There was no luck of interested people to hear us, but instead, a lot of dissapointments. When my companion said: "Let's Go now Elder" I said, Elder Bingham, one more door please! My companion pointed me to his stomach, saying that he was hungry already. I said, please, so he said: OK, but you knock this door. I was so encourageable to do so. I knocked the next door. Suddenly, a young and beautiful girl of 16 years old opened the door. Immediately I got nervous! My companion reminded me to tell her who we were. After that, he reminded me again to say the reason why we were there. It was "The message." I was so nervous. Next, my companion hit my elbow and said: Elder, set up an appointment (this was because the parents nor anybody else was at home.) She, Elizabeth, was very kind and very receptive, and her face showed a face of much surprise. I felt that she did not want to reject us. I was humble and astonished. She said that her entire family would be very delighted to hear from us. That gave me hope. That was incredible to hear. The next day, we arrived, and it was impressive how Mr. and Mrs. Carrizo and the whole family was waiting for us, sitting in their chairs and anxious to hear us (I thought, either they were going to debate us, or they were evangelists, because everything was so perfect.) This story happened in La Teja, Montevideo. On that day, we taught our first discussion, after so long. When my Companion and I left, we looked at each other as asking: Is this a dream?
After we taught few more discussions, on the following two weeks, along with the Missionary Discussion of the invitation to be Baptized, I was abruptly transfered. I left La Teja sadly. Then, I never heard nor wanted to hear from them again. I always thought that the entire Carrizo Family did get baptized, indeed. I always had the impression that even Sister Carrizo the mother, and her daughter, Elizabeth (the one who opened the door), were also baptized. For my surprise they were not. The only one who got baptized were the father, Mr. Carrizo, and the other three daughters.
It was on that day of my phone call, March 27, 2003 with sister Carrizo, when I found out that neither she nor Elizabeth were baptized. I also found out that brother Carrizo passed away in 2002. Then Mrs. Carrizo asked me about my family. Then she told me that Elizabeth her daughter, was there, just visiting. I could not remember which daughter she was talking about. She and I had dicussed of the date of her baptism. She will be baptized on Saturday the 21st of June 2003. She asked me to baptize her. What an honor to baptize HER. We had already expressed... of the amazing of Heavenly Father's Plan, and of this Great Miracle!
Love you all
Fred
P.S.
I Have 5 children. The oldest is 21 years old, it's a she, and the youngest is 10. I Graduated from BYU in Political Science and International Relations. I was a C.E.S. JULY 28, 2000
My name is Fred Enrique Desposorio Cubas,
I was born on February 4, 1956, in the city of Trujillo, Peru, a great city, with about a million inhabitants, and Capital of the Department (State) of La Libertad, a symbol of "Liberty." La Libertad is the first State out of the 24 States that is part of Peru, which first shouted for the Peruvian Independence! (on December 29, 1820). This is why I feel that the principle of Liberty is part of me, so that it may prevail and be respected through out the American Continent. This is my duty, to preserve it; not to do so, would be my shame, as a "Liberteno" (Libertarian) as I am!
I was born in the year of a Peruvian democratic transition. The year 1956 was the end of the Dictatorship of Manuel A. Odr and the beginning of the Democratic elections that took Manuel Prado Ugarteche to become a legitimate Constitutional President.
Since my birth, in 1956, the birth of babies in the world, and mainly in the countries that participated in II World War, unrestrictally goes off by the syndrome of the Post War. In America, this syndrome was felt much deeply, and it became well known as "The Baby Boomers." At the same time, there was a sudden rise of the expansion of an "Ideological World", that it run abruptly until it penetrated through out the corners of the earth. At this time "an Ideological War," outbreaks as well. It is during the Post World Wars in which these world-wide phenomena outbreaks, known as THE COLD WAR, which only terrified the people of a world-wide threat on Comunism. Hence, the sprouting of the anti-communist fanatics at the beginning of the 50's such as a U.S. Senatorby the name of Joseph McCarthy, and who because of him "Just men had to pay for what sinners have committed." Thus, the real meaning of "Social Justice," was threatened. This phenomenon, and soon the sprouting of the frightening of a possible NUCLEAR WAR, kept the world divided bipolarlly. This kept increasing and dividing the world even more, ideologically, socially, economically and psychologically, in an endless Cold War between Anti Communists VS. Communists. An end to this chaos of the IDEOLOGICAL TERROR was needed, and the end of The Division Era, in order to begin an "Era of Unionism." It was not, only until 1985 in which the World-wide Powers of U.S.A. and the U.S.S.R., realized, of the need of a PEACE DEAL, and the need to negotiate in a more civilized way, so we could live in a more united world, otherwise the world would be seen more uncertain. Henceforth, the world begins to breathe fresh air, and by the end of the eighties, we see the sprouting of a UNIONIST ERA, with the fall of the Berlin Wall.
I am a "Desposorio," or desponsories, or sponsion, that means engagement or promise of marriage, union or binding. Personally I would say I became married to politics. I am the second of five children. My father, Dionicio Desposorio Urcia who was a Professor and a Lawyer (and the Governor [just like a Mayor] of the District of Viru, Peru in the year I was born,) and my mother, Rosa Amelia Cubas who also was a Professor, raised me with the spirit of humility and service, in a home where the principle of "simplicity and meekness" was above any vanity. My ancestors come from Peru. Both of my grandparents were farmers.
I was raised in a very popular neighborhood of Trujillo, Peru. There, I lived with the real people, who are the great majority of Latin America, I lived with the dream of becoming somebody someday. I was raised with the spirit to dream, and never giving up! I was aware of the sufferings of a people that did not have in abundance, but nevertheless, they had enough faith to continue surviving and living for the sake of their children, their Land, tehir Laws, their Freedom, and their God, and thus, to provide for their beloved ones from where it was not much left. This is why "I know my people, I know them, because I am one of them!." I cannot walk by a poor man, without reaching my hand to them!
I left Peru towards the U.S.A. as a student when I was 17 years old, on October 9, 1973. I graduated from the "G.U.E., Trujillo" High School when I was 16 years old. I left Peru on the date of my beloved father's birthday. On that day, a Peruvian holiday, known as "Day of the Peruvian National Dignity," my father took advantage of that holiday to take me out of Peru during the Dictatorship of Juan Velazco. Very sadly, I saw how the airplane I was in, took off from the sight of my father, just on his birthdate, and on an early morning of that Peruvian Military Regime. I left Peru towards Los Angeles, California, United States of America as a student visa when I was a teen ager, thanks to the efforts of my parents. Here in U.S.A., I was educated and I learned to value the principles of Liberty and about the patriotism of her Democratic System that has ever existed on this earth.
When I was 19 years old, I interrupted my college studies in the U.S.A., in order to serve a two years voluntary mission for my church, as a Mormon Missionary. I served first in the Brazil Rio de Janeiro South Mission, and then in the Uruguay Montevideo Mission. There I observed the difference between a united people as the United States of America, and our Latino people like the Divided Republics of Latin America. Thus, for the first time it did make sense in my life the meaning of the great dream of the Founding fathers of this Hemisphere like Washington, Bolivar, San Martin, Artigas, O'Higgins and Father Hidalgo.
I graduated in International Relations in the field of Diplomacy and International Law (1978-81), and Political Sciences (1981-82), both at Brigham Young University, "B.Y.U." I have Also done Graduate studies in the city of Mexico in the field of Political Economics (1982), at the Autonomous National University of Mexico, "U.N.A.M."
In 1983, in Salt Lake City, I was hired by my religious church to work internationally, for the Church Educational System (C.E.S.) I was first assigned to Guayaquil, Ecuador, and then my international assignment was changed to Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, as a Regional Director for three programs: Seminaries, Institutes, and Literacy. There I had learned truely of what is the suffering of a forgotten people, and of the great urgency we have to be united as a People of God. I had observed of how injustice and the privilege of the fortunate people and rulers, can humiliate our defenseless citizens and our divided borders as well.
In 1987, I returned to Utah, USA to continue working for the L.D.S. Church in Salt Lake City. This time, I did professional work related to my carreer, which was coordinating with all the Foreign Services Consulates of Latin America within the United States. I had to request and acquire Religious Visas for all the LDS Missionaries who were called weekly to serve exclusively in Latin America, and through out the world.
In 1992, I had decided, to do public work in Provo, and in order to do this, I dedicated my time representing and defending issues for the Hispanic community in Human, Civil and Immigration Rights in USA. This is a task that I am doing it until now.
When I was a young man, I was motivated to get involved in politics by my Political Science professors, and by the memories of three great honorable men. They were the American President John F. Kennedy and by two Peruvian rival politicians, the former Constitutional Assembly President, Victor Raul Haya de la Torre, and the former President Fernando Belaunde Terry. I loved them all, because of my "Unionist Spirit" which I sheltered. I decided to embrace both ideals, one for his "International Ideal," and the other for his "Nationalistic Ideal." Both of them were, unquestionable democrats!
In 1975, I was shocked by the interruption of Democracy in Peru with another Military Coup. By then, former Constitutional President of Peru, Fernando Belaunde, who was a Political refugee in the United States because of a Military coup in 1968, got to visit the Brigham Young University to deliver a speech in Provo, city where I had lived since then.
In February 1978, as a student of Political Sciences, and previous to the Peruvian Elections for the Constitutional Assembly, I was assigned by my BYU Professor to write to some Congressmen. I wrote my first two political letters to two Congressmen in Peru, one to Belaunde Terry and the other to Haya de la Torre. I asked them of why should Peru or any other country have to draft so many Constitutions for their Nations.
By the end of 1980, I returned to Peru after 7 years of absence. Finally, I had returned to the land where I was raised since my early life. I had returned to Peru at a time when a new Democratic President had been re-elected and sworn. Again, he was Belaunde Terry. This had just taken place few months before I arrived. By then, the phenomenon of Terrorism broke out in Peru which brought the sacrifice of our Freedom and the life of many through the entire decade of the 1980s.
On January 1981, I had decided to know more of my Latin American heritage, and I had decided to get to know MachuPichu for the first time. Then, in an extensive trip by bus, I traveled to the southern part of Peru, Bolivia and Chile.
In 1985, while in Peru, I helped as coordinator in the Electoral Campaign of President Alan Garcia. I untiringly supported the candidacy of Alan Garcia Perez for President, because of his great spirit as a Democrat. Once he won the Elections, I founded on April 27, 1985 a Circle, that was called "U.R.I." (For the Unity of the Republics of Indoamerica.) By then, I returned to America, but not until I made another trip to know the northern part of Peru. I again extended in another trip by bus, to Ecuador, Colombia and Panama.
Once Alan Garcia took oath as President of Peru, I left Peru streight to the United States in 1985 to continue with my dream of the "Unionism" in which I was focused.

28 DE JULIO DEL 2000
Soy Freddy Enrique Desposorio Cubas.
Since my birth, in 1956, the birth of babies in the world, and mainly in the countries that participated in II World War, unrestrictally goes off by the syndrome of the Post War. I am a "Desposorio," or desponsories, or sponsion, that means engagement or promise of marriage, union or binding. Personally I would say I became married to politics.
Updated Biography after 2000
After the events of 2000 in Peru and worldwide, many experiences has happened in my life that has led me to the conclusion that this nation, America, would be needing the favor of God to defend the freedom of this land. This thought came to me after the results of the November Elections which brought Political division and controversial opinions about the elections results between the two Political Parties and their Candidates, Al Gore and George Bush, the last claiming to be the winner of the U.S.Presidency with a lot of unpleasant voters through out the nation. By then, I tought the U.S. was taking a dangerous direction in government. Thereby, my interest to get involved in the U.S. political and constitutional issues has increased, and my desire to help this nation increased as well.
By 2001, the American social and political stability seemed to be deteriorating with the September 11 Terrorist Attack. The freedom and democracy in the entire world also seemed to be uncertain. The threat of "a rising hard Ruler and Warrior" demanded by the people was on the way. Then the threat from President Bush to create a World War was at hand with the preparation to attack Irak.
By 2002, I decided to get involved by raising my voice in what I thought it was my citizen duty to warn our people of what was coming ahead. To raise my voice, I attended the National March for Peace in Washington D.C. to stop the War, to stop Agression and to promote the defense of Democracy and of our Constitution which I thought it was now in danger. This demonstration was on April 20 and April 22 in Washington, D.C. I also became active member of the Democratic Party and became a County Delegate and then a Utah State Delegate between 2002 and 2003.
Now the attack against Afganisthan and Irak has taken place, and many lives has been taken away. After the invasion to Irak, there has also been casualties among close friends and relatives within the family who has given their lives as soldiers for Freedom and Liberty.
This is my favorite phrase in times of casualties:
WHEN FREEDOM IS JAILED THERE IS ONLY TIME LEFT WITHOUT DISTANCE... THEREAFTER... ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN... FREEDOM RETURNS... DISTANCE WILL BE RECOVERED... BUT THE TIME?... NO LONGER WILL BE THE SAME... AND FOR MANY IT WILL NEVER COME BACK.

CUANDO LA LIBERTAD ES ENCARCELADA SOLO QUEDA EL TIEMPO SIN LA DISTANCIA... DE ALLI... TODO PUEDE PASAR... LA LIBERTAD REGRESA... LA DISTANCIA SE RECUPERA... PERO EL TIEMPO?... NUNCA SERA EL MISMO... Y PARA MUCHOS NUNCA REGRESARA.

In 1987, I founded the Unionist and Counter-Terrorist Movement, "U.N.I.D.A.D." and in 1988 I organized at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, "UNITED USA" as a Constitutional and Counter-Terrorist Studies Center. I did organize these Movements because I had analized history and I was concerned about our liberty, the threat against our Constitutional life, the peace and future of this world regarding the edeological division between the extreme right and the extreme left wings ending up in terrorism.
In 1989, I made my first trip to Europe to join in the celebration of the bicentennial of the French Revolution. It was my intention to observe and study very closely of how a Continent with such diversity of languages like Europe, and of much historical division, can get this far for which it is today, "The European Union." Because of this, I went to Western Germany, just right before the fall of the Berlin Wall, then I continued my trip to Switzerland, Italy, Spain and France. By January of 1990, I traveled to Tokyo, Japan, to know if there was any of the Empire of the Rising Sun left, and to know about its Eastern culture. In June of 1990, I traveled again to Europe, this time was to England, and France, to continue very closely of my acquaintance with the history of the people of the Western Europe.
In 1991, I decided to start a "Latin America Unionist Crusade", and thus crystalize in a near future, our Founding Fathers Dream. To do this, I began my UNIONIST CAMPAIGN, by traveling to Mexico D.F., Mexico; then I went to Lima, Peru; then Sao Paulo, Brazil and Buenos Aires, Argentina.
By 1992, I was visiting Peru, and we were on the verge of doing of U.N.I.D.A.D. a Political Party, when a Military Coup stroke by the very same Administration of Fujimori. He himself, took place, and with it, dissolved the Congress, closed the Supreme Court, declared the Political Parties, which were the only political schools and Vanguards of our Democracies, illegitimates to exist, and he concentrated all the power of the Government, in his image of Tyrant.
By the end of the year 1999 (December 29th,) there was a lot of unhappy faces and demonstrations against the Peruvian Dictatorship of Fujimori. I went to Peru and participated in the demonstrations for Democracy and against the Dictatorship of the Peruvian Dictator Fujimori. On December 31, I was invited by the Peruvian Party of Belaunde Terry: "Accion Popular", a Party to which my father is a member since 1963, but which I never was a member, to run in their first historical Primary Elections to become a Candidate for Congress of the Peruvian Republic. But this only happened, thanks to their new political democratic approach to openly call all the People who wished to vote in the Accion Popular historical Primary Open Elections, regardless of their political militancy. Thereby, I was surprisingly invited to campaign for them. I did accept the invitation to prove of my Democracy spirit and as a protest against the Dictatorship of Fujimori. I did campaign only among the people of the Metropolitan city of Trujillo because of my short time, and I won and became a Candidate for the Peruvian Congress for this Party. I was Proclaimed as an official Candidate No 63 by the Peru National Council of Elections, on February 9, 2000. Then, on the National Elections which was held on April 9th, the most fraudulent and devilish one that has ever been recorded in the Peruvian history, and which Justice has to punish to those who caused this Electoral Crime, my votes, and the votes of all the Candidates who wanted to represent Peru legitimately, were stolen. Only history will say it someday, of who were the real winners...
In the mean time, I Had a duty to fulfill, and an Oath to make as a Latin American citizen and as an American citizen:
"I, Fred Desposorio, MADE AN OATH, on the 28th of July (Peruvian Independence Day,) in the Year of Our Lord, year Two Thousand, at five in the afternoon, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Yes, I made an oath before my God, my American Continent Land, and before Peru's political crisis, I made an oath before the Peruvian Constitution and the American Constitution, sovereign of the Democracy and of the World-wide Freedom, before the Great Men of Yesteryears, either Ancestors, or Founding Fathers, or Liberators, or Contemporaneous, who gave their lives for the Union and the Latin American and American Freedom. Yes, I made an oath before my children and my future posterity, and I made an oath before the Bible: To holly defend the remaing of our Freedom. To defend Our Legitimate Constitutions of this Continent as well as the U.S. Constitution. I made an oath to recover the Democracy in Peru, and in the other countries of America that may need.
"Each one of us, must be aware that indeed there is a world-wide threat!
and that goes against our family, our faith, our Land, our God, and our Freedom.
Hence, Go for it my Fellow Citizens, let us grasp that shield of Faith, which it will be the same shield of Freedom and Union!
BE YE UNITED... Bolivar said, OR ELSE ANARCHY SHALL DEVOUR YOU!
And I would say, that it would be from any present Tyrant,
or from any presumed Julius Caesar who may believe to be God,
by being a Dictator with no respect to liberty,
as it has happened in Europe with the outbreak of the II World War."
