| John
Elefante is no stranger to the music business. What you will find
here is a short history, some reasons why think he is one of Christian
music's best, and also some great links. There are a few pages where
you can get all of the detailed info you could want. There is also
an e-mail list where you can get the latest dish and communicate with other

| History |
John
has been involved in music for many years. John and his brother Dino
have produced numerous albums for a wide range of artists including Petra,
Guardian, Greg Long, and Nikki Leonti. While Dino had begun doing
production work for Christian artists, John had yet to join the ranks of
the industry. His break break in music came when he auditioned for
and won the vacant lead singing role for the popular band Kansas.
He got into the production work with his brother after leaving Kansas and
totally committing his life to Christ. Together they opened Pakaderm
Studios in California and also started Pakaderm records which was distributed
by Word. During that time period, they also started their own rock
band called Mastedon. It was mostly a studio project featuring several
different musicians filling the various roles. John played keyboards
and did some of lead vocals, and Dino did some of the guitar work.
Together, they wrote most of the songs. They put out two albums titled,
"It's a Jungle Out There", and "Lofcaudio". In my opinion, the songs
on these two projects are some of the best rock songs in existence. The
albums are now out of print and considered rare and worth a decent amount
of money. A Mastedon CD can fetch as much $40 or more. After
the Mastedon days, the borthers Elefante devoted more time to producing
and recording. They folded the record label and opened the Sound
Kitchen studios in Nashville. John also embarked on a solo career
that has produced big radio hits such as "That's Why God Made the Moon",
"Not Just Any Other Day", and "Pass the Flame". |

| Why
We Like Him |
| He
is such an asset to Christian Music simply because he is one of the most
gifted and talented individuals on the planet. He has an awesome
voice and he can write songs like few others. He has written songs
for numerous artists and been involved in numerous musical efforts.
His music communicates such a deep passion for Christ and a desire to remain
committed to Christ. Having been a part of the secular music world
and having seen a lot things, John understands first hand the need for
Christ. He is also incredibly knowledgeable in the area of production
and engineering. John and Dino's Sound Kitchen studio is very much
in demand. John and Dino are also responsible in part for launching
or revitalizing the music of several artists and bands. They are
the production wizards behind Petra's amazing comeback album "Beyond Belief".
John's music raises the level of excellence in Christian Music a few notches
and, together with his brother, he is helping to lend a much needed degree
of credibility to the industry. |
