Giant Gene Arnold introduces Charlie Gracie, NAZZ and AMERICAN DREAM at The Brotherly Love Concert. The TV image is shown on the far right. The concert was too awesome to describe, and George Manney made it happen. Thanks, George and Sue. We've been asked to join a Caravan of Philly Stars on the new "Brotherly Love All-Star Tour" they are arranging, and it sounds like fun for sure. Gene also MC'd the "THRILL SHOW" at the Philadelphia Wachovia Center Saturday September 9th starring Sylvester Stallone and many of our long-time Philly Star friends. To see videos, go to www.youtube.com, and put "giant gene Thrill show" in the search box.

Terry as Terri Hunter knocked audiences
out wherever she performed. An absolutely
awesome singer and entertainer, she gave
up many roles to be a mom and wife. It's
not too late to do a new CD, as all who
hear her say. One was started in LA but
an auto accident prevented her from working
further on it as of yet. Terry studied with
Artie Singer, and Tommy LaMonica for operetic
vocals, and was set to record "The Name Game"
for Lincoln Chase when complications to the
contract came about. She was also slated for
the Streisand understudy part in "Funny Girl"
and chose to have our son Jody when she learned
she was having a baby.

People write and ask what we look like today. Here's our latest by Otto Of Hollywood. Speaking of Glitter-City, Bill Hooey, Hollywood's foremost PR and Movie premiere mover and shaker, is still close with us. Bill was an intern with Gene early on, and wrote for Discoscene magazine and the Distant drummer. He now has a weekly coloumn in the LA Express, and has had radio shows on Kiss FM as well. Bill is a "dating" expert and offers his unusual advice to men and women on the subject. Bill can be heard surprising George Manney with a greeting to him and a reminder he produced his first record for George's group at the time..STONE DAWN. Great Philly memories of our "Be-In's: and fun-days

Gene Arnold and Legendary Philadelphia TV and Radio Personality Sally Starr are both amazed at the low price of the set they're sitting on in a TV commercial they starred in for Curtis Furniture, fore-runner to 309 Office Furniture. Sally Starr was THE most popular figure in Philadelphia TV for years, and is still on radio at WVLT-FM weekly.

"Giant Gene's"
AM UNDERGROUND took Philly by storm.
He's shown wearing the famed gold-
studded jacket that started a trend
when he MC'd The Doors, Hendrix, and
other rock shows wearing it. Some say it would go for thousands on e.bay, but Gene plans to "wear it at a Rock Concert in LA one more time" first.

Gene is shown here with Tom Moulton, mixing the song "Hold Your Horses!" which was a big disco hit for First Choice. Tom mixed many disco hits, and created the long dance-break by looping. Gene and Tom worked on many projects at Sigma Sound in Philly, mixing "live on the air" for Gene's Superstar Concert series. A pic of Tom and Gene TODAY is on the "Decade Of Saturday Nights" page of this site. We're both proud to be inducted into the DISCO DJ'S HALL OF FAME. Scroll down to the bottom of this page and over and click to that page for more pics of a historic event.

Lots of fans remember Gene from his Rock-look. Here he is shown introducing the the legendary Jimi Hendrix at Philadelphia's Spectrum in 1969. The picture above was on the cover of SceneII Magazine. He wore the same shirt to introduce Nazz, American Dream, Charlie Gracie and the Soul-Survivors at the TLA theater as a vintage memory of that great rock era.

JOHN KAY, OF STEPPENWOLF, HANGS WITH GENE. Having the first AM Underground Radio Show made Gene popular with many of the top rock groups of the era. Gene MC'd their concerts and they would often come hang out at the station with him and take listener calls. During the summers, he simulcasted the show from Wildwood, NJ, a "wild and crazy" beach resort where Gene hosted many dance concerts and shows at Diamond Head Convention Center. Gene had John as a guest on many of his later programs. While back then these groups were "anti-establishment" the royalties from "Born To Be Wild" and "Magic Carpet Ride" from movies and TV spots keep HUGE dollars pouring in. Then, they may have donated the money..as it was "evil"...but today??????? John donates to an visits the Elephant Sanctuary next to his Tennesee home.

Terryl stars in the awesome film"eBayDisco Ball" with Hollywood's Jack English. It was a major shoot and she did very well. That picture is above, and on the right. In this still, she stars with Jack English again in a "Price Is Right" spoof produced by the great Ragsdale Brothers in Hollywood this August.

Gene was putting a party together his old pal and Philly's ORIGINAL rock-a-billy star, CHARLIE GRACIE, when Terry was at agent Bernie Rothbard's and saw him. She'd seen him on TV, but never met him. She made a note to meet him, but it was Gene's mother who got them together inadvertently 2 years later. Charlie, a huge star overseas and a favorite of Van Morrison, Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, and Graham Nash, is still married to his storybook sweetheart Joanne as well. Charlie hold's a place in the Rock_A-Billy Hall Of Fame..and if you see his name coming up, you will not see a better show than his. In this shot, Gene had just MC'd Charlie at an outdoor conceert in Philly where he "tore them up." His new DVD "Fabulous" is from the PBS Special of the same name. Catch it when you see it listed.
