Giant Gene and Terry's Photo Album Updates

Gene appears in an episode of this great Adult Swim series with Tim and Eric filmed in Hollywood. The show is huge on Cartoon Network and it's skits sell like crazy on i-Tunes. Giant Gene and Teri Landi of ABKCO Records appeared on Gene's Sounds Of Philly Show to discuss how she got the cherished job of finding the original master takes of every hit put into the new boxed CD sets of Cameo/Parkway records, the Rolling Stones boxed set, and more. It's not as easy as you might think. You have to be a tape expert to deal with it, and a detective as well. Listen for her interview on www.pctalkweb.net and www.soul-patrol.net radio shortly.
Note: We did this show at Mara's Italian Restuarant on Passyunk Avenue in South Philly for "authenticity", as so many of the stars in the Cameo/Parkway newly minted boxed set all used to hang there with us in the past, and Charlie Gracie, his wife, son, daughter and daughter-in-law all participated in the memories and fun. Charlie is off to England for another "sold-out" run overseas.

Giant Gene MC's the B L A S T All Star Tour Stars at Philadelphia's Wachovia Complex.
This exciting show featured the stars of your favorite oldies and included a variety of entertainment (featuring B.L.A.S.T. - Brotherly Love All-Star Tour artists: Charlie Gracie, The Original Orlons, The Soul Survivors, Frank Stallone, Nazz featuring Stewkey & Skip Denenberg, and hosted by Philly's Giant Gene Arnold. There were items of interest for all ages, a classic car show, performances by Philadelphia Police Department Units, including the Motorcycle Drill Team, and Fire Department units performing life saving techniques. The "BLAST" ended with a huge fireworks show. Sylvester Stallone was the Grand Marshall for the Thrill Show. Plans are in the works for a "bigger, better Thrill Show" in 2007, say's Manney.
Be sure to hear our great interview with Stewkey of Nazz at www.giantgene.com, and hear a new program with Philly's own "Secret Diva," Essra Mohawk and an interesting interview and musical adventure with the creator of "The Brotherly Love Tour," George Manney, on www.pctalkweb.net

PHILLY MEMORIES..and TERRY'S TRIBUTE TO NEW ORLEANS..ABOVE "Our Gal Sal", Sally Starr is a TRUE Philly legend. Gene and Sally have appeared on many shows together over the years. A newly found slice of a tv spot featuring Gene and Sally is on the home page of this scrapbook at the bottom. Speaking of "Philly" memories,Do YOU remember...our great record hops and dances at Jardel Rec Center..St. Martin's, St. Anselms, with RJ at The Manor, The Groove, RJ's Hollywood, and our early Disco at 40th and Market..Holiday Lakes, Clementon Lakes, Willow Grove Park, D'Scene, Chatterly's, and all of our fun dance concerts at the area night clubs? Taste the memories...enjoy them. Have a "Black n' White Shake....'cause "the Sounds Of Philly" were black, white, rock, soul, and dance, dance, dance hits comin' at you every week. What a great time to have been alive! Thank's to all who e.mail us with their great memories, like Pete of THE FABULOUS "Chickie and Pete's, who danced on our TV show, RJ and Company"

Giant Gene and Joey Reynolds tear the airwaves up on WFIL..Philly's "Famous 56" for years, and now captured on websites by radio lovers everywhere.

Gene and Terry at dear friend Trudy Haynes wedding. Trudy was a "one-of-a-kind" communicator for KYW-TV 3 for many moons, as is Edie Huggins, another good friend from TV 10 for years.
We've all worked with various charities together, and this is one dynamite pair. FYI, Terry won that fabulous stole for beating Gene at bowling.

A newly discovered postcard for Giant Gene's "Electric Scene" on Philadelphia's WIBG--"Radio 99" The station switched number 1 time-slots with WFIL during different day-parts for years. Gene was one of the very few locally born and raised personalities whose voice was heard on so many local stations during his radio career. Most have to "leave town" and start in a small market, but Gene started here with RJ at WEEZ...WIFI-FM, then WCAM, and WCAU with his "American Scene" talk show. Also true of breaking in to TV, Gene was the exception with RJ on TV 17, TV 29, TV 48. Uniquely, in today's worldwide communications age, Gene's "Sounds Of Philly" shows reach many. many more listeners than any one radio station in any city on his site, pctalkweb.net, and soul-patrol.net radio.
