Likely these photos were done during an early dress rehearsal, since they appear in the program distributed during the run.  The first photo is of Wendy and opera performer Jane Fyffe who played Prince Charming in this production.

Note Wendy's rather mannish hairstyle, after the fashion of a powdered wig; this would be expected, since she's playing the role of Dandini, the male servant of Prince Charming.

1984 marked the final season for the original AYBS? series (though the episodes weren't actually broadcast until early 1985). Ms. Richard was already working on the first set of episodes for a new continuing serial show to be entitled EastEnders.

The first image here shows Ms. Richard with other female cast members in a mock chorus line on the as-yet unfinished set of EastEnders. The original photo was likely taken during the Press open house that was held at the Elstree set on 10 October 1984, since episode shooting wouldn't begin until December, and here it appears Wendy is still sporting the long tresses of her 'Miss Brahms' hairstyle.

The last image appears in an English language textbook used in the Netherlands (thanks, Anneloes!). It is a posed shot of Pauline (Wendy) and Debbie Wilkins (Shirley Cheriton), an EastEnders character who left the show about mid-1987. Note that Shirley is the second from the left in the above chorus-line image.

It's interesting to note that the English text in that textbook reads like an excerpt from an EastEnders' script, involving Debbie, Andy (her boyfriend), and Debbie's mum, Iris. The caption for this photo in the textbook is simply "Two EastEnders".

When she started EastEnders this year, Ms. Richard was obliged to cut her gorgeous hair back so that Pauline could initially sport a much more practical collar-length coiffure. Happily, though, by 1986 it will have returned to its former exuberant state.

This image appeared in the 1986 EastEnders Annual book (though I believe the photo was made in '85). It is an excellent shot and is a fine example of the break that Wendy had made by this time from her earlier character of Shirley Brahms.

Wendy wears a 'fairy-godmother' costume from Cinderella for this Christmas episode of B-B.  Interestingly, 18 years later she dons a very similar blue gown with tiara for her 2004 photo on the DPSA charity calendar.

I think this is one of the finest of Wendy as "Pauline".  It appears as a full-page shot in the EastEnders: The Inside Story book; Wendy's confirmed it's from 1986.  A color version of this shot was in the BBC's now-rare 1988 EastEnders wall calendar.  Also, a similar photo was used as her publicity card for the show.  She notes that the shots were taken out in the parking lot; she's holding a newspaper out of view to soften the light on her face.

The first image is of Wendy as Pauline around July of the year.

The 2nd image is from the EE 1989 Annual book.  It's not a particularly good shot, but does give an idea of Pauline's typical appearance around this time.

The 3rd image is from a commercial endorsement Wendy did this year.  Since that's work, it seems appropriate to place the image here. It's an extremely attractive one, nevertheless.

The top image appears to be Wendy kitted out as Pauline Fowler (down to the gray cardigan sweater), but apparently relaxing off-set somewhere.

  The second image is probably from December of this year, since the EE storyline had Pauline spending the holiday in hospital.  This appeared most recently in The Mirror, Feb 1996.
