. . . as the pert Miss Brahms in the sequel to AYBS? entitled Grace and Favour. Ms. Richard (who has aged wonderfully well over the intervening seven years since the final episode of the original series) re-donned the oft-times garish wardrobe of the junior ladies' sales assistant (including her trademark brooches).

Grace and Favour was not picked up for a third season, so in 1993, Ms. Richards concentrated on her tried and true role of Pauline Fowler, as well as a short cameo on a special revival of Dr Who.

The last two images are based on posed publicity shots. The shadowed picture has its origins in a photo Pauline (Wendy) that appeared in the BBC pub EastEnders: The First Ten Years.

I suspect the very last photo -- one of the handsomest I've seen of the character of Pauline Fowler -- in this set is from the same shoot that produced the image used on Wendy's publicity card from the early 1990s.

Despite her character's reputation for overall frumpiness, it is safe to say that no one on EastEnders has ever worn the Launderette workcoat quite so attractively.
