Gunderson High School Foundation July 7, 2003 Board Meeting Discussion Notes Attendees: Ronnie Townsend, Robin Schlice, Greg West, Dr. Linda Murray. Jim Henderson and Demerris Brooks were on vacation. No business was transacted at this meeting for lack of a quorum. * Approval of June, 2003 meeting minutes Correction on VPlex suggested. No action taken. * Treasurer's Report Treasurer not present. No report. * Consideration of special recognition for Dave and Aiko Fadness for their generosity. Consider designating them "Foundation Life Members" or some other appropriate designation. A discussion on naming the scholarship after the donor & making donors life members. This would require a change in by-laws. Foundation to work with a "set amount" to use (possibly $1000 to $5000) * Technology Scholarship Selection Greg reported that Rob Iverson told him that Mahul Mystry will receive the $1000 scholarship and Garret West will receive the $250 scholarship. Post-mortum to be set for the September or October meeting to include Gunderson technology teacher Trish Lynch * HNVF Grant Logistics Greg reported that we've gotten official notification of receiving the grant for our College & Career Center project for $30.5K. A workshop will be held next week by the HNVF grant folks to outline the process. Greg will attend. * Continue planning for an Alumni Fund Raiser and alumni directory Greg reported that Boosters would be willing to include us in the Crab Feed next spring. The Booster Club President, Konika Aiho, will give us the option of co-sponsoring and sharing in the profits (probably small), or selling tickets like any other sport or club (we keep $20 from each ticket sold). Greg reported that he got a call from Lorraine Milesky at Alumni Research, a competitor of Harris Publishing in alumni directory publications. Alumni Research is currently working with Willow Glen on a directory. She is sending me some information on their process. If we are not too far along with Harris, we might want to consider AR. Other Items: Potential need to replace Jeannette was discussed. She will be AP for Activities at Lincoln this coming school year. Jeanette may still be interested in being a director since she is a Gunderson alumni. Possibly ask Jim to take over Treasuerer duties to releive Jeanette of that load. The next meeting is August 4th. * Adjourn
