He explained that, in fact, only $1600 of the registration fees were covered by the other grant. Jim asked that our $350 grant, less our reimbursement of roughly $50 for materials, be reinstated to help cover the outstanding $400 in registration fees. Demerris also provided a copy to Greg for the Foundation's records. * Alumni Directory Update No update was available. * Continue Post Mortem on the Technology Scholarship - All (with Trish Lynch) We discussed potentially offering more scholarships of smaller amounts to be awarded to students selected from nominations made by each of the department chairs. This would strategy would accomplish two things: It would help recognize the use of technology throughout the school; and it would further expand the visibility of the foundation through the school. The selection would be based on students' technology resume submitted with the nomination form and portfolio presented at the multi-media faire. Trish explained why the faire wasn't held last year, and gave her commitment to ensuring that a faire will be held this year. She also suggested that nominees be given a special space at the technology faire to present their portfolios. It was suggested that we publicize the Technology and Multi-media scholarship program to both the department chairs (top down) and through a mass email to all students (bottom up) when that capability becomes available. We will need to finalize the program at our December meeting so that we can begin to publicize it. *Report Alumni Fund Raiser--Spring Crab Feed with Boosters (see notes below) and Discussion of '03-'04 membership drive. Greg reported that the Crab Feed is on Friday, 2/21/04 (the week-end after President's Day week-end) and will be held at the Italian American Heritage Hall, 425 N. 4th St. Booster Club will give us $20 for every ticket that we sell. Greg suggested that we cross market memberships with the crab feed and publicize the event with our Annual Report mailing. He suggested the following pricing: GHS Foundation Membership: $25 Individual Crab Feed Ticket (price set by the Booster Club): $35 Individual VIP Crab Feed Ticket (price set by Booster Club, includes wine and VIP basket): $50 Individual Crab Feed Ticket and Foundation Membership: $40 Individual VIP Crab Feed Ticket and Foundation Membership: $55 2 Crab Feed Tickets and Foundation Membership: $75 2 VIP Crab Feed Tickets and Foundation Membership: $100 Greg also suggested offering complimentary pairs of VIP tickets to our major corporate and individual contributors (Westfield Corporation, Great Oaks Water Company, Pat Dando's office, the Fadness Trust, the Veronica Lewis Campaign, Samsung Semiconductor, and Coldwell Banker) on an RSVP basis. Greg anticipates that we will get RSVP's for, at most, two or three pairs of tickets at a net cost to the Foundation of less than $200. This suggestion was accepted by the consensus of the group. * Adjourn 7:30PM
