I created this page to help others learn more about Tarot. The path of Tarot is shrouded in mystery. It is based on symbols which have both classic meanings, or may be read intuitively, or a combination of both.
Remember the 4 D's...do not scare your clients by talking about Doom, Death, Divorce, or Disease! Remember, you could be wrong, or you could be creating a situation where the power of suggestion creates a negative reality. For example, most people get frightened when they see the Death card in a reading, but remember, it stands for transformation. Some decks even use a butterfly instead of the Grimm Reaper.
If you don't have a tarot deck, please support your small town metaphysical shop and pick out one there. If that is not an option, EBAY offers many decks. I recommend for beginners the Aquarian Tarot, the Hanson Roberts Tarot, or the Connelly Tarot. If you are pagan, the Robin Wood Tarot is a popular choice.
If you are more advanced, perhaps you'd enjoy a non-traditional deck like the Voyager Tarot, which is a photo-montage deck, or the Mythic Tarot, which deals with Norse (Viking) themes. And there are many interesting Arthurian tarots around.
How do you pronounce Tarot? Some say Taro......rhymes with sparrow...and some say Ta...row....rhymes with thorough. The last T is not pronounced, just like you do not say the T in Ballet. Occasionally someone calls it the 'tarots'. I think that may be a European style. If anyone knows...let me know.
