Welcome to the HILLIS Reunion Page! Our family are descendents of Andrew "Jackson" HILLIS, born about 1815-1817 (KY/TN), and lived in and around the Giles County,Tenn. and Lauderdale County,Ala. area. His descendents have scattered across the country, and many have settled in Texas, Oklahoma,California, Oregon, Florida, among other places. There has been a HILLIS reunion since about 1960... formerly out in Nolan County (Sweetwater/Roscoe),Texas. As descendents have aged, and shifted in locality, it has become feasible to move the reunion to a more accessible area. This currently happens to be in the community of Tira, Hopkins County,Texas. We have decided to hold it the 3rd weekend in June EVERY YEAR, making it easier to remember! This page is devoted to keeping the family updated on current reunion information, so please bookmark it, and keep checking back occasionally!

HILLIS REUNION 2008 is scheduled for Saturday & Sunday, JUNE 21st & 22nd,2008 (NOT Father's Day weekend this year!) at the TIRA COMMUNITY CENTER. Take Highway 19 NORTH, out of Sulphur Springs,Texas... until you come to Tira Road (County Road 1536), then turn right. Continue on for about 2-3 miles, til you see the Community Center on the right. We will gather at the Community Center Saturday morning, and will have access thru late Sunday afternoon, or early evening. The Center provides us with air-conditioned facilities, Kitchen, Bathrooms, Electricity & Water (We will accept donations to help cover expenses...), Tables & Seating. It is a small community, and does not have playground equipment, so please bring toys, etc. for the children. Please bring a covered-dish and/or dessert, or even sandwich-makings. Any paper-goods donated will be appreciated! (paper-plates, cups, napkins/towels, eating utensils, and toilet-paper.) Drinks (sodas, tea, kool-aid, coffee) and Ice/ice-chests are always a welcome addition! Just bring whatever you can afford... we're just country-folk!

Bring you family, and bring your cameras! Please bring old family photos and albums to share with the rest of us! I will have my scanner handy, if you will allow me to scan them, for preservation, and to place them in our Family Tree Database! We hope to see everyone again, and hope many more will decide to join us!
