These are some photos I took in June 1998, while vacationing — and visiting kinfolk — in Germany. Wittenberg is near Apollensdorf...The birthplace of my Grandfather, Friedrich "Otto" FRIEBEL. The Elbe River is nearby. It is a beautiful, and interesting country! We even came upon a Bride & Groom as they exited! (lower right corner).

While staying in Apollensdorf (with cousin Marianne), we got to attend the Wittenberger Stadtfest... "Luthers Hochzeit" (Luther's Wedding). It's much like our Renaissance Festivals, and is a celebration of the teachings of Martin Luther.
