Although many of the Booster parents were still groggy from the previous night's crab feed, the band and equipment departed for the final competition of the year at 07:30.Under excellent weather, a well executed parade performance resulted in third place in division AA. Prior to the award ceremony, everyone enjoyed a spirited exhibition performance by the Sacramento State (CSUS) marching band.
During downtime between performances, the band enjoyed meals provided by the boosters. In addition, the traditional Senior Cake was presented to the 25 graduating seniors in the band and color guard. The band students presented a card to Brenda Reed, the uniform mom for the past 3 years. Brenda was kind enough to donate her time and energy this year, even though she did not have a child in the program anymore! Thanks Brenda! The band played an excellent show and finished third overall. An exhausted crew arrived back at school well past midnight. The boosters parents were proud of the kids and thoroughly enjoyed a fine season!
