SAD, COLD AND LONESOME

Dear Cousin Blannie & Gary:

I don't know whether you all would like to hear from me or not. You wouldn't even say goodbye when you left, but I am going to write just the same.

You cannot realize how much I miss you both. So sad to part with friends. Everywhere so lonesome. I have not been to Aunt Roxie's since you left. I know it is lonely there now, everybody gone. I have not seen Nettie since they moved.

Tell Gary to be a nice little boy & everybody will like him. I am glad he has gone to work and hope he will be an honest, truthful and smart boy, so he can hold that place. Wish for him good luck & you also. I am coming to see you whenever I can come to town. I haven't anyone to come with me now you left me. So sad to part. Seems like everything is dead around here.

The snow is falling thick & fast. Will be glad when spring comes, so snows will be over with. They are so cold & bad. That colored man out here at Paul is no better. Stands it well. Been sick a week today.

Give my love to the rest. I heard you were fixed up very nice in your house. I would love to see it. Maybe I will some time soon.

You must write to me sometimes. Would be so glad to hear from you all & see you, too. Ans. soon.

Your Friend,

J.E.B.
