American National Bank

Charter # 4848

American National Bank was in business from 1893 until 1919, when taken over by Farmers and Mechanics National Bank.  The bank issued only $10 and $20 notes from the 2nd Charter period (Brown Backs and Date Backs), and $50 and $100 notes from the 3rd Charter (Plain Backs).

Currently I have 9 total notes recorded on the bank.

2nd Charter Period - 1882 "Brown Back"

$10’s and $20’s were issued, and all are known to exist today.

1 of 4 known Brown Backs on this bank.

Currently, the lowest Serial Number known on a Brownback.
