Wood family vacation continued

He was supposed to stay on the trail! But, from the pictures you can see he didn't follow the etiquette guidelines. I'm not sure I've completely recovered from this picture.

You see, while Joel was taking the picture of the one alligator, there was another one close by. James was really excited and ran to get my camera. Gregory and Judy were yelling at James and I was yelling for Joel to get Alex. All I wanted to do was make sure Alexandra wasn't the one being stocked. Later we found out it was nesting season and the gators were agressively protecting their young. I guess Judy and I were doing the same.

Well this little lady parked herself right in the path and refused to let us by. We had to walk all the way around the swamp to get back to the car. We were more than obliged to let her stay in the road. I can honestly tell you I was spooked after that encounter. Every little noise and croaking bullfrog made me jump.

Well those are the pictures we have up for now. I will try my best to post more later. I just wanted to get these up so the family can enjoy.

A big thank you to my Mom and Cheryl for putting up with us for a few days and to my Aunt Judy and Uncle Gary for making our trip so exciting. Alexandra has started telling everyone about her big brother Gregory. She is really proud of him and wants more than ever to move to Houston.

Here is a picture of my Dad cutting watermelon. We were at Pine Creek and Dad was doing what he did best. Cutting ice-cold watermelon.

This is a picture of my Dad's Father, Hagin Collins and his wife Macy Pate Collins. She died a week after my father was born. She was only 17 years old. Dad told me she liked to draw and paint. That's about all we know about her. I do have her report card from Piney Point school, 4th grade. She was a good student and passed all her classes. Her father was Freewill Baptist Minister and travel southeastern Oklahoma, Western Arkansas and parts of Texas. His name was Thomas Henry Pate. I do have a picture of him and when I get my family page completed I will post the pictures.

Thanks for visiting.
