"Instrument Flying Made Easy

by Gene Hudson.

This book covers the basic instrument scan, a seven step procedure for ALL of the instrument maneuvers, why the VSI (vertical speed indicator) needs to remain in the aircraft panel, and how to get control of the aircraft without working so hard. It is a required text for my private students. I liked Gene's techniques so much I now work for him. My instrument students get Gene's entire course, which is not yet available for purchase. Head over to Gene's Website for more information.

If you are teaching or learning GPS, I've created a series of GPS Checklists. They are fast, easy to use in the cockpit, and cover just what you need to know. I improved my gas mileage after getting all of those heavy manuals out of my trunk! Find out why DPEs, FAA Inspectors, Avionics Shops, and Instructors say "this should be in every flight bag!" More information is available on my site. Also pay close attention to Lesson 19, GPS Navigation. This is a rough lesson plan for what takes the entire instrument rating for students to master.
