Changed CAT 5 cable so it might see other computers on network. 2. Changed to NetBIOS over TCP/IP per bookmarked Internet suggestion/did not work and changed it back. 3. Uninstalled and reinstalled NIC card/didn't help. 4. Changed name of computer to Computer32 from OLC32/didn't help. 5. Changed workgroup name from CALVARY to WORKGROUP/didn't help. 6. Ran Network Wizard again/didn't help. 7. Disabled other unknown Network Adaptor in Hardware Devices/didn't help. 8. Tried using "half duplex" 9. Reinstalled NIC card drivers to no avail. I have no idea where this Adapter #2 came from in Hardware Devices but when I tried to uninstall it, it said that I couldn't because the computer might not start up without it. None of the other computers has this in their System/Hardware Devices window. This computer and the other one that won't see the network, Computer 39, both see the Lynxsis router for some reason. I don't think the others do, but this Network Places folder on XP is so goofy that half the time I don't know how things came up or why and can't duplicate it if I try. I am going to try on 10/27 to "roll back" the computer to when it was new and just bite the bullet and install all the programs again. Even though the other 6 work fine and I believe I did the same thing to all of them, I can't be sure that I did things in the same order, not that that should have any effect, but I'm at a loss at this point. 3:48 PM 10/31/2005 emailed emachines tech supp they ort to help with this problem the normal remove device drivers and reinstall the network stuff 3:55 PM 10/31/2005 registered on the phone with tech support Emachine model t3104 s/n ck858 c00 27374 10/25/05 Attempts to get Computer32 to see others on network: 1.
