The Ten Commandments

The Giving of the Law at Mount Sinai is one of the most momentous events described in the Pentateuch. All agree that the Ten Commandments given at that time represent a group of fuandamental laws that in some way are different than all the rest of the law given by God to the Israelites. The Ten Commandments were subsequently recorded on two separate stone tablets and placed in the Holy of Holies in the Sanctuary that in part was built to house them.
