| neighbor's possessions | does not appear to be like this law |
Despite the fact that the sin of the people who built the Tower of Babel does not appear to have anything to do with coveting a neighbor's possessions, the parallels between the Commandments and the sins of mankind outside Eden cannot be a coincidence.
The facts are that
* the first three sins of mankind are identical to the first three Commandments listed above
* the fourth sin is extremely similar to the fourth Commandment listed above
* according to many opinions, the Second Tablet contains one more law, and the Pentateuch states that during the history of mankind outside Eden, one more sin was committed.
The matches are overwhelming. The parallelism has to have meaning.
