CD_GENDATA_001 “THE ENNIST GENEALOGY”
...
Compiled By: Donald C. Donohue

The CD-ROM Edition of "The Ennist Genealogy" consists
of122pages; plus, an additional 29 pages dedicated to its
source citations as a separate entity; thus, giving a total of 151
pages. It is completely indexed. This genealogy starts with the
immigrant and traces the family down to its current members.
While the book is not exhaustive in its coverage of the family, it
does include 978 connected members; plus, a fair number of
people with this surname who could not be explicitly connected.
Thus, the book covers 12 generations; starting with the Battle of
Dunbar, which was fought in Scotland on 3 September 1650. This
edition benefits from the recent research by Dr. William B. Saxbe,
Jr., which caused the chapter on the first generation to be
completely rewritten, and gives an improved understanding of the
second generation. In addition, the 8 known errors in the original
edition have been corrected; plus, 5 new entries have been made
to the bibliography. The book includes information from a
treatise written in Scotland in 1698, which shows that the first
Baron of Innis was named by King Malcolm IV on Christmas Day
in 1160 AD.

CD_GENDATA_002 “The YARMOUTH GRAYS and
THEIR RELATED FAMILIES WITH FIVE OTHER GRAY
and TWO GODFREY FAMILIES FOUND
in MASSACHUSETTS, CONNECTICUT, or MY
HOME COUNTY of ULSTER, NEW YORK ”
... Compiled
By: Donald C. Donohue

This CD is an update of, "Grays of Ulster County,
Related families, and Other Grays". When this started our thought
was to gather data on the Grays who got their start on this
continent on Cape Cod in Massachusetts, and track their migration
westward into Ulster County, New York. We found that these
Grays of Cape Cod were called the "Yarmouth Grays" Next, we
found that the Yarmouth family had related families on Cape Cod;
so, the families of Forman, Godfrey, Lewes/Lewis, and Sparrow
were added. The research on the Sparrows resulted in the earliest
date entry in the book; namely, 1580 AD. This new book is 298
pages in length; to which we added a second book of 160 pages
to incorporate the source citations; giving a total of 458 pages.
There are in excess of 2,635 names in this new genealogy, and
the8 known errors of the original have been corrected. The section
on the Yarmouth Grays in itself spans 9 generations; whilst the
other sections range from 2 to 9 generations. It is completely
indexed.

CD_GENDATA_003 “ONE DONOHUE FAMILY'S
DUTCH, GERMAN, and HUGUENOT ANCESTORS ”
...
Compiled By: Donald C. Donohue

This genealogy, quite naturally, contains the Donohues, but it
also is comprised of 15 ancestral families. Each family is allotted
its own section in the book, and they are: Blanchan,
Christiana, Crispell, Davis, Delamater, de Rapalje, Du Bois,
Kelder, Kermer, Middag, Osterhout, Schutt, Smith, Van derMark,
and Van Esselsteyn. In those families where published
genealogies exist, their section comprise of that data specific to
their Donohue relationship. In the case of the Christiana and
Smith families, published genealogies are not available; thus, these
sections are as comprehensive as research allowed. In any case,
the information contained in the book gives important clues as to
where additional data might be found for all 16 families. The
genealogy consists of two books: Book I, which contains the
genealogical data, is 287 pages in length, and Book II, which
contains the source citations, is 42 pages; for a total of 329 pages.
The book lists over 1900 individuals, and spans 16 generations. It
is completely indexed, and the 6 known errors in the prior edition
have been corrected.

CD_GENDATA_004 “THE ROOSA FAMILY of
NORTH AMERICA ”
... Compiled By: Lorraine M. T. Luke _
Edited By: Donald C. Donohue ... CD-ROM EDITION.

The genealogy of the Roosa family starts in The Netherlands
in1595 with the generation that precedes the immigrant, and
traces the family through fourteen generations to current times.
The book consists of 1,034 pages, and includes 8,665 connected
names. Even so, no claim is made that this work is completely
exhaustive. A complete index is included. Three items have been
added to the bibliography of this edition, and the one known error
in its predecessor has been corrected. In two instances, alternate
data has been added where there is disagreement
regarding interpretation of the data. New research is required to
resolve these two items.

CD_GENDATA_005 “The Middaugh Family in the
Netherlands and North America (1480_2000) ”
Compiled By - Jack K. Middaugh, September 1, 2000

About this CD:

This compilation is the third effort of the compiler
documenting the spread of the Middagh family in North
America. The first effort was published by the Ulster
County (NY) Genealogical Society as Volume II in their
“Families of Ulster County” series. The second effort also
was published by the Ulster County society as Volume VII
in the Ulster County Family series.

The second edition (Volume VII) of the family history
included information on the family’s origin in Holland not
previously known or published in the US. It also corrected
some of the errors found in Volume II; connected some of
the “shards” of Volume II; and extended several of the
branches of the family.

This, the third edition, is similar to the second edition in
that it includes all of the information contained in the
previous editions and includes major additions to the
knowledge of the expansion of the Middagh family
throughout the USA and Canada. However, it differs from
the second edition in that ancestral data, fully footnoted, on
several maternal lines is included.

While this edition of the family history follows the pattern
of the two previous editions in that the narrative is not
footnoted (except for the maternal lines), there is a
supplement entitled “Bibliography” that is essentially
nothing more than a Descendant’s Chart that is fully
footnoted. The identification numbers assigned to
individuals in the Descendant’s Chart are identical to the
RINs used in the history. Therefore, a reader has access to
all of the footnotes pertaining to an individual by referring
to the Bibliography, going to the RIN of the individual and
there find all of the footnotes pertaining to that individual.

The reason this procedure was adopted is that the reference
material was/is so extensive normal methods of
“footnoting” or referencing were too unwieldy. The reason
for this is some of the reference notations require three
digit numbers. Since some of the genealogical events have
two or three references it resulted in trains of numbers that
destroyed the book’s “readability” or continuity. Therefore
it was decided to prepare a bibliography that was/is a
“bare-bones” descendants chart providing a list of the
documents referred to or consulted by the compiler in the
preparation of genealogical compilation.

Jack K. Middaugh

The index to this CD (listing 1,073 surnames & 5,008
given names) is available at the end of this page.

CD_GENDATA_006 “ HABER, HAVER, HOVER, et al PLUS ELEVEN
ALLIED FAMILIES WITH THEIR ANCESTRAL TRAILS TO EUROPE ”
... Compiled & Edited By: Donald C. Donohue ...

As the title implies, the central family of this genealogy is the Hovers,
with its variations in spellings, and, as such, the research for this
family has been as exhaustive as possible. In the case of the
Rockefellers we included only those members who had marriages
to Hovers, including their closest relatives, and, of course, their
ancestry back to Germany. In regards to the rest of the families
included we included only those people with direct ties to the Hovers,
but this information is fairly extensive in its own right. These families
are: Bunker, Eaton, Feake, Gay, Knowlton, Melyn, Palmer, Starr,
Turner, and Winans. The genealogy provides clues of where to find
more extensive information on each of these families, and the Rockefellers.
The genealogy includes three books: Book I, which encompasses
the genealogical data, is 372 pages in length; Book II, which identifies
the sources of the data included in Book I, is 171 pages; and Book III,
which is the Index, is 77 pages. Thus the total for the genealogy is
620 pages. The genealogy identifies the immigrant in each family, and
goes several generations back into Europe for six of them.

The index to this CD is available at the end of this page.
