Sale Tubes & Parts! Sale prices good through 8/31/08:

(5 rolls) 18 ga. solid 300 volt PVC hookup wire, Radio Shack branded, in the original packaging; this normally sells
for $5.99 plus tax per roll, my price is $4.50/roll, or all 5 for $21.00. Four are red, one is black

(3) 6CM5/EL36, 2 Mullard branded Rogers Canada, NOS/NIB, $29.50 $24.50 ea. One RFT branded United,
also NOS/NIB for $24.50 $19.50.

(1 quad & 1 pair) JJ 6L6GC, fully tested, proper pins, and nice prices! $29.50 $23.50/pair, $59.50 $48.50/quad.

KT-66 Valve Art, brown base, close out - (1) single for $19.50, (1) pair for $42.50/pair.

(2 matched pairs) KT-88 Genalex reissue, 3 were very lightly used, these were returned by a customer
that needed hotter biasing tubes for his amp. They may have an hour on them! The 4th tube is brand new but
has a slightly tilted bottle. Save $20.00 per pair on these fully tested and guaranteed tubes! These could
definitely be used as a quad! Just $89.50/pair.

(3) KT-88 EH, all slightly used, all test within a few ma. of each other, so they are usable as a trio or a pair with a
spare tube. Some light rainbowing of the getter is present, otherwise the tubes could probably pass for new. $21.50 ea.
or all 3 for $59.50.

(7) GZ34S JJ, brand new tubes, tested and ready to go - but all the bottles are crooked! Please! Help
me make these tubes go away! Just $10.50 ea., perfect for use where the tube isn't in view!

(1 matched pair) EL34 SED, fresh stock, nice match, but tilted bottles! Save $$ if you can use these - $49.50 $37.50/pair

(4) EL34EH, these are "cosmetically challenged" - old logos, smeared print, etc. All are fully tested
and are perfect tubes electrically (some are on the "hot" side bias-wise). I'll pick the best matched
tubes for you if you want, steal them for $8.50 ea. Hurry if you want any - these always go fast!

(2 pair) EL-84M Sovtek (= 7189) NOS, late 90s to 2000 production, Save! Just $18.00/pair.

(9) 6SN7GTB RCA, used - but in the original boxes, these tubes all pass testing, but are not prime stuff.
But they can be real useful in a lot of applications - whenever you need a good working tube to fill a
socket these are up to the task. $6.50 $4.50 ea., 3 or more $5.50 $4.00 ea.

(1) 5881 Tung-Sol reissue, this tube was used for testing by me, it is in excellent condition but has some
getter wear. Just $8.00 gets you a low hour tube!

(1) 6SN7GT Electro-Harmonix, new tube, one section tests a bit low (but WAY above minimum) and the
bottle is tilted. It's a perfect test bench tube though, $4.50.

(2) 6SN7GT Russian made branded Sylvania, one ANOS, one NOS/NIB, tests new, handy to have
around, $4.50 ea.

(20+) 6SQ7 metal tubes, NOS/NIB, $4.50 $3.00 ea.

(About 6 pieces) CV4024/12AT7 Mullard, these are either NOS tubes with a minor problem like too much
section difference or test slightly low, etc., or they are tubes I think are ANOS. These tubes will work fine in
most applications. Regular price for CV4024s is $27.50 ea., steal these for just $13.50 ea.

(many - 30?) 6K6GT, various USA brands, used but test well above minimum, will be white boxed and may
need cleaning, no choice of brands at this price but I will provide an assortment of diffferent types if you wish,
just $2.25 ea or 10 for $20.00

(1) 7059 RCA branded GE, mobile ruggedized version of the 6U8, 12-15 volt heater, now $1.00.

(6) CHY-1616 Hytron or "Sperti" branded (probably made by GE), cool 1943-1944 dated US Navy
1/2 wave 2.5 volt rectifier tubes. These are tall, 4 pin based tubes with a top plate cap. Some have
graphite plates! Rated for 550 volts PIV and 180 ma. avg./800 ma. peak current. NOS/NIB, only $6.75
$3.00 ea., or 2/$5.00. Look for the data sheet here: 1616 Data Sheet

(7) 6F6 RCA, hard to find new metal tubes, $9.75 $7.25 ea.

(25) 6H6 NOS, mostly GE JAN, excellent little metal dual diode, $3.00 $1.75 ea.

(4) 6C5/VT-62 RCA, nifty octal low mu (20) single triode, NOS/NIB, $5.50 $4.75 ea.

(1) 950 Coronado, engraved base/ST bottle, new tube in white box. Note: this is not a 50 sub! $19.50 $12.50.

(2) GL-8005 GE, NOS in white boxes. These are rare and scarce, so if you need 8005s , grab these now!
Important! One of these tubes has a piece of metallic looking material loose inside it. It appears to have been left in
the tube when it was made, as nothing is broken inside that I can find. Normally a piece of metal in a tube is trouble,
but because of the size of this piece and the fact that the glass "press" covers the base leads the metal piece is only
a problem if it somehow lodges inside the plate structure which is extremely unlikely. So you can use the tube with
complete confidence as long as you use it upright, in a vertical position. Both tubes test great, and if you aren't
satisfied upon receipt I'll refund your purchase! Make me an offer! They were $109.50 ea., or both for $210.00.

(1) 715A Western Electric monster high power high frequency transmitting tube, original beat up box. It was
used by WW II airborne radar sets. Looks new, no way to test it though. Own a piece of history, $59.50 $19.50.

(2) 6939 Amperex USA, rare frame grid tetrode tubes, new, white boxed, $29.50 $27.50 ea.

(30+) 6CX8, NOS, various brands including JAN GE, grab 'em now for that old guitar amp! $3.50 $2.50 ea.
10/$30.00.

(9) 5651A Sylvania, NOS/NIB, all good stuff, $3.50 $2.75 ea.

(1) 6E5 GE Canada new "magic eye" tube. NOS/NIB, but lower brightness than normal, but works
normally otherwise. Free with any tube order - just ask!

6X5 Blowout! Used tested strong 6X5GTs (may be white boxed) for $2.50 ea. (no RCA, sorry).
May need cleaning. Grab 'em now while you can!

(2 singles) KT-88 JJ, used but test close to new, excellent getters. These are older stock with proper size pins,
$22.00 ea., or both for $42.50.

Recent Arrivals!

All tubes (even new) are carefully tested on my AVO CT-160, TV-7 or B&K 747 testers. Power tubes are tested
and matched at real operating voltages, not just with a tube tester. BTW, NOS means new old stock, ANOS
means almost new old stock, and NIB means a new tube in the original box.

Super quality Cinch yellow Micanol 9 pin sockets for Citation and many other amps! Now NOS, they're
out of production! I have about 310 pieces on hand, and when they are gone that's it. I know of no other source
for these great sockets that were made with the Cinch tooling. Great contact grip, low leakage, bottom mount,
extraordinary sockets! Grab 'em now while the price and availability is at it's best! $7.50 ea.

Now In Stock! Mullard reissue EL34 tubes. These were modeled after the xf4, and the people who've heard
the tube like it a lot! Not quite as warm as the SED, but mellower than the EH; $39.50/pair, $79.50/quad.

Genalex Gold Lion KT-66 reissues - now available! I now have a limited supply of these well made tubes in stock.
Supplies are improving greatly right now, so if you want to try them don't wait. They look good, they are rock solid on the
the burn-in/match rig, and after the incredible performance of the KT-88 Genalex, I didn't want to wait to get these in stock!
They are $39.50 for singles, $79.50/pair, or $159.50 for a quad. Please note - these tubes have a special shipping rate
to any any USA address of $3.00 per quad with an over $150.00 tube purchase (outside the USA is higher).

Genalex Gold Lion KT-77 reissues - now available! I now have a very limited supply of these well made tubes
in stock. Quantities are very limited right now, and properly matched quads are really scarce! Singles are $48.50,
pairs are $97.50, quads (if available) are $196.50. Please note - these tubes have a special shipping rate
to any any USA address of $3.00 per quad with an over $150.00 tube purchase (outside the USA is higher).

Genalex Gold Lion KT-88 reissues - good stock on hand! The listening reports are virtually unanimous, regardless
of what gear the tubes go in. This tube is clearly the equal of and according to many may even be better than
the original GEC. It is absolutely the best on the market now! My impressions from handling and matching the tubes are
extremely positive. The tube is very substantial in your hand, they feel heavy and look well made. Pin soldering is
excellent! There have been just a small handful of the nearly 800 tubes I've sold that have had any issues at all.

Please note! In testing and matching sometimes labels are smeared or partially removed while handling the very
hot tubes. While I take every precaution to minimize it it sometimes can occur - it is not a defect.

Singles are $54.50, matched pairs are $109.50, matched quads are $219.50; octets (when available) are $440.00.
The price increased on 1/1/08 due to the weak US dollar.
Note - these tubes have a special shipping rate to any
USA address of $3.00 per quad with an over $150.00 tube purchase (outside the USA is higher).

(1) 6550 Tung-Sol, coke bottle shaped & labeled Harman-Kardon, early 60s grey solid plate, old stock, used,
tests about 125% of minimum, very good to excellent getters! Nice looking tube, $69.50.

(5) 6L6GC RCA black plates, (1) NOS/NIB pair matched to better than 3 ma., excellent Gm match too. Rare
new pair, $199.50/pair. I also have a white boxed ANOS tube; it tests very strong, like a good new tube.
An excellent example, the best I've seen in a long time, just $79.50. I also have a single with the broken center pin
properly repaired, it tests like new as well, but it's used, $49.50.

(1 matched pair & 2 singles) EL34 RFT/"Siemens", 3 branded AEG and 1 branded National. These are very
lightly used, and they test in the same range as new tubes do. These won't last! $74.50/pair, $34.50 ea for singles.

Lindal. Lightly used tubes in original boxes with low noise and balanced sections. Nice! $21.50 ea.

crack is present, $13.50.

(2) JAN-CKR-6SN7GT/VT-231 Ken-Rad, 1943 vintage NOS in their original US Navy boxes, clear glass
with staggered black plates. These tubes Gm test within about 10-11% of each other, and test toward the lower
end of the new range. Often that means the tubes are a bit quieter. Not easy to locate anymore, $149.50/the pair.

(198) 6GK5 Hitachi (Japan) NOS, from bulk so will be white boxed, excellent quality 1960s vintage tubes! $5.50 ea.
Gm matched pairs for $13.50/pair

(26) ECC82/12AU7 Radiotechnique NOS/NIB 1958 dated tubes; some of these Philips/Mullard family tubes became
available, and I was lucky enough to latch on to some. Unlike the eBay sellers, mine have their pins cleaned,

90 days - not just 30! $37.50 ea., $79.50/matched pair.

(1) 7027A RCA, new in the original box!, tall bottle, very nice tube, $52.50

Genuine 7591A Electro-Harmonix tubes are in stock! $21.00 each single, $42.50/matched pair, and $79.50/quad.
Here's a typical customer comment... "I put the EH 7591's in my Pilot SA-264 power amp. Set the bias and let
'em cook a while. Then I listened. I was really surprised. They sound like the real thing. What a sweet sounding
amp that is."

Important note! There have been some cases where the new production 7591A tubes (EH and JJ) have had trouble
in circuits using a very high value grid resistor - as vintage Scotts, Fishers, and others do. The best solution is to change
all the grid resistors to 180K-200K (from the old value over 300K - sometimes they even exceed the old RCA tube manual
recommendation!), and change the coupling caps to .1 uf or .22 uf. I stock all the parts you need, the parts cost is only
$10.00 to $15.00 per amp, depending on the coupling cap value and voltage.

Click here for a look at a typical 7591 output circuit. Resistors R129 & R130 and caps C87 & C88 in the outlined
boxes are what may need replacement.

KT77 JJ - Lousy build quality - I won't use 'em in my own gear, so I won't sell 'em! I won't be stocking these
until JJ gets the build quality improved significantly. Very disappointing...

KT-88 Electro-Harmonix . This tube has 95% of the performance of the very best KT-88s at 1/2 the price!
Very tight bass (I wish there was a tad more of it though), beautiful mids and highs - and a tough, reliable tube
too. Only $54.50/pair, $109.50/quad. Note! If you want to use these in a Harman-Kardon Citation II amp
you must reduce the bias current to 83-85 ma. or so
to stay within the tubes' dissipation limits.

They do nothing for me in triode though - the Ei KT-90s in triode still KILL anything else in triode. I recommend
using the EH in the stock (ultralinear) configuration only.

6DJ8, 6922, 7308, and Equivalent Types...

Very Important! I can no longer offer my usual guarantee on 6DJ8/6922 new production tubes. If you
purchase 6922 JJ tubes, I guarantee they have been tested as thoroughly as possible and they will
work properly out of the box. But due to the extreme demands placed on these tubes by many (most?)
designers, I cannot guarantee they won't become noisy or microphonic once installed. I will only accept
returns within 14 days of purchase. I hope this works better for everyone than my "no returns" policy!

Great New Tube! 12AY7/6072 EH Gold; just like with the 5751 the NOS supply is about gone, and what's left is

plate is unlike any other EH tube I've seen! It won't break the bank either, at just $16.50 ea. or $36.50/pr.

International shipments are no problem! Contact me regarding details and shipping charges. Purchasers outside
the USA must make payment in US dollars. Checks must be payable by US banks. I'm sorry, but I cannot
undervalue shipments to reduce your counrty's duties. I can be fined/jailed for doing so, so please don't ask.

Note! Regardless of how you pay, it's best to e-mail and confirm availability first: jimmcshane@prodigy.net

Tube shipping is usually $7.00 to any USA or address, and it's only $1.00 with a purchase over $150.00 (to the USA only).
Small shipments to Canada are $7.00 - $8.00 as well. I'm located in Orland Park, IL, just outside Chicago.

"Received the valves today, installed them this evening, simply fantastic. I must add my sincere appreciation for the
superb service level provided by yourself."
Enzo, from Australia.

I had received my 10mar05 tube order no more than 2 days after your receipt of my payment and
I can say that your matched sets are prime (you must listen to a lot of tubes pop as they hit the
bottom of your trash can)! I wanted to say that I will be a return customer.
D. Dwyer, USA.

Guarantees and Returns!

Up until now (10/07) I have not adopted a formal policy regarding these issues, as my goal was to work out any concerns
concerns with a purchaser on a case by case basis. Sadly the situation has changed, so I now will have to follow the
following policies regarding guarantees and returns:

All new or new old stock tubes and/or parts are guaranteed for 90 days from the date of purchase. ANOS or used
tubes are guaranteed for 30 days. A few tubes have different warranty periods, those will be listed on my site or below.
Tubes/parts that have been been misused or installed in sockets designed for a different tube are not warrantable.
Defective tubes or parts must be returned for evaluation; if found to be defective they will either be replaced or a
credit issued (my choice). Tubes must be returned in the same condition as when received, with all packaging present
and in original condition. Items cut to length cannot be returned (except if shipped in error).

Tubes may be returned only if defective. Note that most tubes returned to me are NOT defective, but have either
been damaged in use or had poor contact with the tube socket - or were installed in an improperly biased power
amplifier. Bias procedures for Citation tube amps can be found on this site, for other amps please consult the
manufacturer's data or a qualified technician.

Please note! Tubes used in Audio Research (ARC) gear other than the original equipment brand and number
(with the exception of substituting EH for Sovtek tubes) are warranteed not to be DOA only. There is no other
warranty whatsoever. Original equipment brand and number tubes carry the normal warranty described above.

While I strive to give the best advice I can regarding what tubes are best sounding for a given application, each
system and listener is different. It simply isn't possible to guarantee the tone will be exactly what the purchaser
expects. I cannot sell tubes "to try out" or for "auditions" without significantly increasing my prices, which I
don't want to do. I cannot accept returns of tubes you bought for an amp that was later sold/gave away, decided
not to use, etc.

At my option, I may offer to repurchase the tubes at a mutually agreed upon price, but there is no obligation on
my part to do so.

This warranty covers only the tubes and parts purchased from me, and is limited to replacement (or refund) for
that specific item. Resultant damage to equipment is specifically NOT covered.

To request a return please email a description of the problem and the date of purchase. I'll reply ASAP with
instructions on the return procedure. You are responsible for shipping costs on returning items, I cover return
shipping back to you. Please pack the tubes well when returning tubes. Tubes returned which are poorly or
inadequately packed cannot be warranteed. Please include a copy of your email requesting return in the shipment
and your return shipping address.

A Very Important Note About Shipping Insurance!!

Shipments are not insured unless you specifically request it! I strongly recommend you purchase insurance for
your shipments. Without insurance you are responsible for the shipment as soon as it leaves my hands!
The fee is exactly what the Post Office charges me. While I will do everything I can to help you locate and track down
a missing or delayed shipment, I cannot assume any liability for missing/delayed/damaged shipments unless they
are insured.
