Aerial view of the "Basilica of THE NATIONAL SHRINE OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION", Wahington D.C. The tribute of American Catholics to teh Blessed Mother as Patroness of the country, the shrine is currently the largest Catholic Shrine in the United States and eighth largest in the world.
St. Anthony's Chapel in Pittsburgh has the largest collection of Catholic Relics in the World outside of Rome. The collection was made by a priest in the late and early 19th and 20th centuries, who was attempting to keep in the church many religious relics that were placed on "whole sale" by many European governments of his day that were closing churches and confiscating church property.
