Soapaholic Software

Whether you're a newbie, or an experienced soap maker this program is a must have.  This software was created by soapmakers for soapmakers.  What started out as a simple saponification spreadsheet has mushroomed to include just about anything you would want.
  • Three ways to enter data, and calculate lye.  Enter the quantities in grams, ounces, or even by perecent.  You tell the software how much soap you want to make and the percentage of oils you want to use, and the software does the math for you!!
  • Easily convert from ounces to grams
  • Add notes about the soap.
  • Information on over 60 different oils plus nearly foolproof usage amounts. Just click on the oil and the software will tell you all about it, or read the entire list at once.
  • Calculate the cost of a recipe.  Simply tell the software how much you paid for an ingredient and the amount you used, and it will figure out the rest.
  • Have a favorite sap value, or a favorite oil not on the list?  This software is expandable.  You can change any of the sap values, or add more oils easily.
  • Links and contact information to American and Canadian suppliers
  • Water and lye discounts?  This recipe will show you a range of superfatting, and water discount amounts.
  • Want to make milk soap?  This program will also calculate the amount of milk to use for the creamiest soaps.

Think of it as your personal soap guru!

The original target date for the release of this software was March '01.  Well that didn't happen...My hard drive crashed just a few days  short of having just about everything completed.  While I did manage to have most of it backed up (cd burners are wonderful things), I just kind of lost the heart to go near this project that I had put so much work into.

I had put the project on indefinate hold for quite sometime, and actually yes, stopped making soap for a while.  Then September 11th happened.  It showed me that life is short, and has re-newed my spirit.  I live in NY state (although pretty far from the WTC), and the thought of this happening in my own back yard so to speak was just too shocking.  My heart truly goes out to everyone that was effected by these terrible events.

I have little money to donate (and I can't donate blood), but I know how to make soap pretty well.  I have decided to plunge back into making a pretty nice piece of software.  I plan to sell it on Ebay as they are allowing people to list items and the proceeds will go directly to help people recover from the events.  I will email people when the software is completed to let them know how to purchase it on Ebay.  If things go well I will also start selling it through this website.

All of the money I collect will go directly to charity.   Please help by spreading the word.  Please also send me an email if you are interested in purchasing the software.  I hope to have it completed very soon....just as soon as I finish sorting through all of this stuff from my old hard drive.
