The Three Marks of Existence and the Holy Eight-Fold Path

First Mark of Existence: Existence is suffering. All becoming is suffering. This endless round of birth, old age and death is suffering.

Second Mark of Existence: Existence is impermanent. All phenomena are impermanent. Body, mind, all things are impermanent.

Third Mark of Existence: There is no self, no soul, no personal abiding entity. Nowhere can a self or soul be apprehended.

The Noble Eight-Fold Path: The path set out by the Buddha, the Eight-Fold path, with meditation on and realization of the first three truths combined with:

A: Faith
1. Right Understanding
2. Right Thought
these two together = Wisdom

B: Morality
1. Right Speech
2. Right Bodily Action
3. Right Livlihood

C: Meditation
1. Right Effort
2. Right Mindfulness
3. Right Concentration

This, then, is the Buddha Path, The Eight-Fold Path, which ends suffering, ends becoming, ends the ceaseless round of Birth and Death.
