We impute to others our own thoughts and feelings
A man tends to impute to others his own thoughts and feelings.
If the thoughts and feelings of his own heart tend to be
deceitful, low and without principle he tends to impute these
same types of thoughts and feelings to others; if his own
thoughts and feelings tend to be honest, high and principled he
tends to impute these types of thoughts and feelings to others.
It is for this reason that bad men are often overly suspicious
and wary and good men are often overly naive and trusting.
