    History of route 6:

  • Certified in 1932.
  • Originally routed through Bryan along an unnumbered road and current routes 2 and 34.
  • Originally routed through Bowling Green along an unnumbered road and current route 105.
  • Indiana state line to Bryan was route 2 before 1932.
  • Bryan to Fremont was route 34 before 1932.
  • Fremont to Sandusky was route 12 before 1932.
  • Sandusky to Cleveland was route 12 before 1926 and route 2 from 1926-32. Dually certified with route 2 in 1932. (See route 2 for information about when the route 2 dual certification was removed.
  • Euclid to Andover was route 85 only before 1932.
  • Andover to North Richmond was route 7 only before 1932.
  • North Richmond to Pennsylvania state line was unnumbered before 1926.

  • Cincinnati to Middletown certified as route 4 in 1926.
  • Middletown to Franklin certified as route 73 in 1926.
  • Franklin to Michigan state line certified as route 25 in 1926.

  • From Norwalk to Bridgeport.
  • Routed along current route 250.
