    History of route 25:

  • Certified in 1926.
  • Originally certified as part of U.S. Route 25, which ran from Brunswick, Georgia to Port Austin, Michigan.
  • Originally routed from Kentucky state line in Cincinnati to Michigan state line along current route 42 from Cincinnati to Sharonville, unnumbered roads paralleling route 75 from Sharonville to Cygnet, route 25 from Cygnet to Toledo, route 51 from Toledo to 1 mile west of Toledo, route 24 from 1 mile west of Toledo to 2 miles north of Toledo, and an unnumbered road from 2 miles north of Toledo to Michigan state line.
  • Cincinnati to Sharonville was route 28 before 1926.
  • Sharonville to Franklin was route 124 before 1926.
  • Franklin to Perrysburg was route 6 before 1926.
  • Cincinnati to Sharonville dually certified with route 42 in 1926.
  • Findlay to Perrysburg dually certified with route 10 in 1932 and with routes 68 and 10 in 1933.
  • Findlay to Perrysburg dually certified with route 68 from 1933-56.

  • 7 miles east of downtown Cincinnati to 11 miles east of downtown Cincinnati dually certified with route 74.
  • 7 miles east of downtown Cincinnati to 9 miles east of downtown Cincinnati certified as route 50 in 1926.
  • 9 miles east of downtown Cincinnati to Friendship certified as route 125 in 1926.
