  • Originally routed from Indiana state line in Union City to 2 miles west of West Jefferson along current route 571 from Indiana state line to 1 mile east of Greenville, route 36 from 1 mile east of Greenville to Urbana, and route 29 from Urbana to 2 miles west of West Jefferson.
  • Indiana state line to Greenville certified as route 71 in 1932.
  • Greenville to Urbana certified as route 36 in 1932.
  • Truncated at Urbana in 1932.
