Originally routed from Indiana state line to West Virginia state line in
Chesapeake along unnumbered roads paralleling current route 74 from Indiana
state line to Cincinnati through Harrison, Miamitown, and Cheviot; route 52
from Cincinnati to 6 miles east of South Point; route 7 from 6 miles east of
South Point to Chesapeake; and route 527 from route 7 to West Virginia state
line.
Indiana state line to Cheviot was route 130 before 1926.
Cheviot to Chesapeake was route 7 before 1926.
Downtown Cincinnati to 7 miles east of downtown Cincinnati dually
certified with route 50 in 1926.
Route 50 certification removed in 1932.
Ripley to Aberdeen dually certified with routes 62 and 10 in 1932.
Ripley to Aberdeen dually certified with routes 62, 68, and 10 in 1933.
Route 10 certification removed in 1934.
