Originally routed from current route 14 (originally route 8), 5 miles
west of North Randall, to Pennsylvania state line at Sharon, PA.
Brentwood Lake to Twinsburg was route 81 before 1926.
Twinsburg to Aurora was unnumbered before 1926.
In 1926, rerouted from Aurora to LaPorte along previous unnumbered from
Aurora to Twinsburg and previous route 81 from Twinsburg to LaPorte.
Aurora to North Randall certified as route 43 in 1926.
North Randall to route 14 (route 8 before 1926) certified as route 8 in
1926.
Extended to 4 miles west of Laporte in 1938.
4 miles west of Laporte to Laporte dually certified with route 10 in
