Village
Castle Acre is an unusual and historic village set in deepest rural Norfolk, but within driving distance of the coast. It has the ruins of a large Norman Castle, as well as several other historic features that make it an exciting place to explore.

There are several shops in the village, so you can buy freshly baked bread, cakes, pies, during your stay. The village butchers has an excellent reputation for quality.

Should you wish to treat yourself, there is a small Restaurant and a Tea Rooms on the green, as well as two Inns offering Real Ales and food.

In North Norfolk there is plenty to see and do, whatever your interests. There are steam railways, windmills, National Trust Properties, parks and woodlands, boat trips, lots of farm and wild animals as well as miles of beaches and coastline. You will find an information file and maps are provided, so whatever the weather you’ll have lots to choose from.
