Koza... for a night on the town this is where we generally went.  Bars and clubs so numerous that it is said that you could never see them all in an 18 month tour.   Several of us, on payday, would catch a cab (share the fare) and ride to the corner of BC street for a start.  We didn't have a favorite, but it seems Club MG was an eventual "must" each time we went.  I first hung out at the China Night (tasteful and had a good Jazz band).  Gate 2, outside Kadena AFB, was another area.   Before I left they almost closed down Gate 2 completely to make a shopping area.

Does anyone remember Charlies Tacos.  A small diner, I think it only had 5 tables, but had the best tacos in the world (it is reported to be still open).

Kadena Circle was the closest for any shopping (if you want to call it that).  It was commonly called "The Ville".  Tommy's was a favorite hang out for most during my time there.  Pachinco parlors were also something to take in.  The "locals" loved to play these inverted "pinball" machines.
