RCN is currently building their system in the Chester area of Delaware County. They are not expected in the Marple area until the financial markets improve. They offer phone service and internet connections in addition to cable and have discount packages with all three services. When there are two cable companies, pricing normally goes down. I have requested several public benefits to be part of any new agreement modeled after what several of our neighboring towns have gotten from our current cable provider like funding for public access, senior discount rate beyond a $1.00 per month, second education channel for private schools and optic fiber so we can build a network between our Township and School Buildings.
