John F. Tomera, Ph.D.

Biographical Sketch

Dr. Tomera has more than 20 years experience in broad and diverse applications of pharmacology and therapeutics, product positioning, health care, pharmaceutical Research & Development, and academic collaboration. He has served as a Staff Scientist at the Massachusetts General Hospital, an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology (Pharmacology) at Harvard Medical School and as a Principal Investigator at the Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children, Burn Unit, Boston, MA.


His training includes Postdoctoral Appointments at the Harvard School of Public Health in the Department of Nutrition, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Department of Nutrition and Food Science. Dr. Tomera has authored more than 60 articles in the medical and scientific literature in such journals as Cancer Research, Journal of Cardiovascular Pharmacology, Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, and Circulatory Shock.


He received his Ph.D., Magna Cum Laude, in Pharmacology from Temple University School of Medicine and holds a B.S. in Biology, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Pittsburgh.
