REVIEW:

Jonni Rich proves herself to be a masterful storyteller. While weaving a tale of gripping suspense, Rich touchingly details the growing love between Sheriff Hal Bailey and widowed elementary teacher, Kylie Ward.

A seemingly senseless kidnapping draws the reader into scenes of breathtaking mountains and rugged terrain, but also into a story with a sense of fear so real, it will make you check the locks on your windows and doors.

Rich's finely crafted page-turner will keep the reader's rapt attention until the last page is read.

This is a read that does not disappoint.

DEADLY INTENT: COMING SOON

A PAGE TURNER:

Murder and hauntings in the Louisiana bayous.

Ember Ryan, executive at a California film production company is forced to sell the family estate, The Colonnades, because her trust fund has mysteriously vanished and she is in desperate need of money.

She flies to Louisiana to personally give the news to her Aunt Leticia, who presently lives at The Colonnades. To Ember's total dismay, she learns on her arrival that her aunt has just died.

As if this wasn't enough to cause her grief, there seems to be a strange discrepancy about the time of her aunt's death. Ember swears she spoke to her aunt right before leaving California, but Russ Paxton, successful young lawyer and old childhood sweetheart, assures her Aunt Leticia died two hours before Ember's supposed call took place.

REVIEW: DEADLY INTENT:

Ember Ryan is on a mission. A distasteful mission! She is on her way to inform her beloved aunt that the family plantation has been sold. Heartbroken to find out her aunt has passed away, Ember vows to find out what truly happened to the woman who raised her from childhood.

Obstacles began to arise. Ember's childhood love, Russ Paxton, helps her face each happenstance, even when murder, mayhem, and a ghost's sudden appearance threaten to shake the heroine's already fragile psyche.

Ms Rich's characters are deep and well-rounded, and the story is told with a straightforward style that doesn't deviate from the path the heroine embarks upon. We are taken on a roller-coaster ride of stirring emotions and vivid descriptions.

A deep and brooding plantation steeped in Louisiana lore, a hero to die for, murder, love, a resident ghost that speaks in riddles, and a well done mystery are what makes DARK LEGACY by Jonni Rich a story to curl up and read on a rainy day.

This is a story sure to please. Highly recommended for those young and young at heart, and those looking for a puzzle that tickles the brain.

REVIEW

After Aunt Leticia's funeral, Ember Ryan begins investigating what happened to her missing trust fund, without success

She discovers a corpse in the mansion's attic. The body turns out to be that of a man she knows only too well.

On top of that, the dead man's girlfriend is now missing, foul play is believed and Ember becomes suspect number-one. Someone wishes her evil, wants her dead and out-of-the-way, but whom? Is it the sweet and nervous housekeeper? The rude gardner? The lawyer responsible for her missing trust fund? The lawyer's wife? Or is it Russ Paxton, with whom she's beginning to fall in love with?

In the old mansion odd sounds and whispers haunt Ember at night--and a ghost that appears and disappears tries to help her and warns her of eminent evil

I was pulled into the mystery from beginning to end. The author has succeeded in creating a distinctively threatening, dark, yet alluring setting in this old house in the bayou country of Louisiana.

Everyone seems a suspect and the love story doesn't overpower the mystery. If you love ghost stories, suspense and romance mingled with the decadent flavor of the Old Soutn, this is the book for you.
