A number of students were interviewed to document how the SARB process helped improve school attendance. It was done under the direction of Dr. Victor Thompson (a school counselor and administrator) who also did the interviewing. Videotaping was by Jonathan Whitcomb of Whitcomb Legal Video of Long Beach, Calif.
Videotaping was also done at the Los Cerritos Court building in the city of Bellflower. Al- though actors played the parts of the mother and daughter, all other parts were played by actual SARB members.
One of the early shots was a "bird's eye" view of the room. This was to simulate a sur- veillance camera view and was effective at communicat- ing the serious atmosphere of court proceedings. The sound effect of prison doors closing reinforced the impact.
